Delicious food, great flavors. We enjoyed Garlic Chicken, Curry Chicken and St Martin Stewed Chicken. Staff very pleasant. Be Aware: Cash Only

Not sure why Yvette's receives such high marks on Tripadvisor. The service was pleasant, but the food we had was average at best and the inside of the restaurant was plain and sort of run down - not to mention that the restaurant is sort...of difficult to get to. We visited lolos with much better food (eg, Captain's Rib Shack). We had the combo platter as an appetizer, and the whole snapper and conch and dumplings for entrees. Our first indication of problems was that the crab meat in the appetizer was not real crab meat - just diced imitation crab. While the shrimp was ok, the pickled conch was bland and rubbery. The whole snapper was ok, but slightly overcooked and slightly rubbery. The conch and dumplings were a mixed bag. The dumplings had a nice al dente bite, but the conch portion was small, had no flavor and didn't add to the dish at all - which was mostly just garlic flavored (to be fair, the menu says "lots of garlic"). I do not recommend any of the dishes we had, and I don't expect to go back to Yvette's.More

Had a large group of fourteen and where able to accommodate all of us with a reservation. Shared a seafood combo and the shrimp and snapper were great. Everyone in the group was extremely happy with their food and prices are very reasonable. Will definitely...be back.More

This was our 4th trip to St Martin. Beaches and the excellent restaurants are always a lure. Fine food, excellent service, and glitzy atmosphere is almost a given. Then there's Yvettes. Unless you use GPS, you'll never find the place. Even then you'll think you...made the wrong turn. It's a residential neighborhood with a sign in front of a house that says Yvette's. The parking lot is just some dirt on the side of the road. Park the car, walk to the front door and you're met by someone who greets you as if you're a favorite relative visiting for the first time in years. Walk into the old house and you're led to the dining room that looks like a large kitchen. No glitz at all. Again, just like a relative's house in the country. The menu has some things that look familiar and some things that don't. Conche with dumplings? Never heard of that. But, what the heck - try it. Soup, ok, hot and homemade. Warm johnnycakes. Delicious! Mixed drinks - only $5. The conche with dumplings - outstanding! Homemade pie for dessert - out of this world! Of all the fine restaurants we've been to in St Martin, the food here on a 1 - 10 scale: 15. The service? Best ever! The bill? Very reasonable. (But cash only.) After four trips we felt like we finally visited the "real" St Martin. Any of the other restaurants could easily have been in any tourist city in the States. We've never gone back to the same restaurant twice on any vacation. We did this time. Next year: 3 times at least.More

We had the combo platter as a starter and the seafood platter as main course. It was a good, home-cooked meal and the waitress was very friendly and helpful!

Yvette's is about as genuine as it gets. A Google search reveals how important Yvette was to carribean cuisine While she has passed, her husband still does the cooking for the restaurant. Eating there is like being invited to someone's home for dinner. Located in...a small colorful house on a side street near nothing in particular, Yvette's offers down home carribean food experience, compete with plastic table cloths and white plastic chairs. The homemade pepper sauce served in a used bourbon jar says it all. The flavor keeps you coming back for more while the heat feels like a five alarm fire in your mouth! Our server said he has been there for 42 years! Locals abound and the conversation during dinner was fabulous. It's a bit of work to find, but well worth the effort! ❤️More

Loved this creole and authentic restaurant. Yvette’s restaurant or Chez Yvette You don’t come here for fancy stuff. You come here for delicious homemade cooked creole cuisine. Served by the nicest sweetest lady. Very casual. You are dining with the locals. Which to me is...a must try. We ordered a couple of appetizers. They brought 4. 2 of them on the house. If you are in the mood for a real and true authentic curry. Plantains, rice and beans, red snapper creole or broiled. This is the spot for you. Beer is only $3.More

When you first turn down the road, you may wonder if you’re in the right place but you are. Yvette’s is a hole in the wall gem that you have to try if you’re in the area. Delicious seafood and BBQ, a mom and pop...feel, and great guava berry and coconut pie for dessert. You won’t be disappointed despite the surrounding area. If you talk to any locals while you are here and you ask any one of them where is the best place for local food, they will all tell you Yvette's and they are not wrong. This place is located on the French side and...when you arrive, you would think that you were going to eat in someone's home. Inside the restaurant is a very cozy atmosphere; it's family owned, father cooks and son serves. Price is very reasonable but it is a CASH ONLY place. Food and service was excellent!More

I had gotten the word about Yvette’s from our airport to rental car place shuttle driver and he had told us it was his favorite restaurant in St. Martin. We decided we had to go. The service was fantastic and the food was UNBELIEVABLY good....I got the curry chicken and it was perfection. They gave us complimentary Johnny cakes and fried plantains . The prices were really, really good as well and it was a wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend!More

I'm confused by the great number of positive reviews of this restaurant. Based on them, I expected to have at least a decent meal and I did not. While the service was adequate and the servers were very nice people, the food was way below...average . We tried the "pickled conch" appetizer, expecting something akin to conch ceviche, but it was quite different, emphasizing garlic and vinegar, and not really bad, but not good either. For entrees we had "garlic shrimp" and "pan fried whole snapper". The shrimp dish was ok, not objectionable, but unimpressive. The snapper was puzzling; how could whole snapper be pan fried to the point where the texture was akin to beef jerky? It wasn't merely overcooked, it was dry and chewy. How does that happen? I wouldn't recommend any of the items we tried there.More

If you’re into glitz and glamor and want to eat somewhere for Instagram, don’t eat here. Yvette’s is a Mom and Pop with a homey feel. As soon as you step inside it feels like it’s someone’s home. COVID precautions in place which I appreciated....Mask and Yvette asked for us to sanitize our hands before we came in. Rum punch was $5 a glass and delicious. (Heavy on the rum!) stuff breaded crab back for an appetizer was very flavorful, just not much crab. ($7) ribs as an appetizer were 5 small ones and they were so good! We both had oxtail stew with rice and peas and French fries. It was absolutely amazing, flavorful and not stingy with the oxtails! The complimentary plaintains and Johnny cakes were also good. The stew came with a small salad and their homemade dressing was simple, yet delicious. With tip we spent $60 USD. Yvette was absolutely lovely and we’d definitely return for another meal.More

Definitely go here for lunch. It’s the oldest restaurant on the island and some of the best food we’ve had. We bring people their first day visiting and they always want to go back for more. It’s a special experience. You feel like you’ve got...a home cooked meal. Best dishes are: conch Yvette, wings, salt cakes, curry goat, ribs, chicken stew st marten style and garlic chicken. But. Everything we’ve had has been phenomenal.More

This place serves fantastic seafood at a reasonable price. I had the coconut shrimp and my wife had the red snapper, both meals we're some of the best seafood that I've eaten in my life. Really can't say enough good things. Great service too.
