Delicious, modern and the dessert was just fantastic. I come here every time I am nearby. The location is off the beaten track but it worths a little detour.

Beware! Restaurant has two levels of service: high-end dining (main dining room) and pizzeria (right next to the entrance and the pizza oven). When making your reservation, make sure you choose the right dining room SPECIFICALLY (because they are not telling you)! This was our...4th visit to Anyukam Mondta in about as many years (we are visiting Hungary summertime from San Francisco), and sadly, things are going downhill. My guess is that adding a pizzeria to this once wonderful and innovative place was a big mistake; upscale dining and pizzeria don't mix well. In our first two visits the dining experience and the food was exquisite. Last year in 2022 we visited again and got seated in the balcony of the pizzeria. The low ceiling and the heat from the pizza oven was made worst by the mediocre service. OK we said; maybe it was a fluke, so we made reservation for the 140 km trip from Budapest 2 days in advance. We expected fine dining for a party of 3, but it was not to be. Low and behold, we were again showed to the pizza balcony, the waiter barely gave us 30 seconds, neglected to bring a wine list. When I politely asked to be seated in the main dining room, I was flatly refused because our reservation was not in advance. When I pointed out that was not the case, I got the rude answer: "we would have seated you there anyways". So we left. It breaks my heart to see a once fabulous place loose its "mojo" and become so-so for no reason. If you read this far: I highly recommend Pajta in Őriszentpéter, super food and service. Superb food, good service. We shared a napolitan style pizza as as a starter, and then tried different main courses. Everything tasted exquisitely. This is the best restaurant for miles around, well worth a visit. The cuisine is a lot of well prepared Italian food,...but there are nice Hungarian dishes too, mostly on the daily recommendations menu on the blackboard.More

What I find very fascinating is the autentic Hungarian dishes. Must try. (Pacal, tökfőzelék and so on). Also the drinks are selected very well

Were can I start. It was not our first time in here, but our first time since they got their Bib Gourmand. We were excited and wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I was prepared to drop a rather handsome amount of money for an...exquisite lunch. It was a treat and fine-dining after all. I have checked out the menu well in advance. I really like the rather cryptic sound of the tasting menu. Literally you got what is given you just know it is a 5-6 course meal with canapes ans matching wine, water and coffee to follow. And who would not want a 'Blind date with the Chef and the Sommelier' when they are offering the best, the freshest and the greatest you can get in the area. It was a very cosmopolitan fusion of local rustic Hungarian food fused with fantastic Italian cuisine with all the trimmings. It was well-worth every forints. The canapes were Jerusalem artichoke crisps topped with goats creme cheese and deep-fried Cavalo Nero crumbs, served with their own label of French bubbly. Truly great! The first appetiser was home-made rosemary focaccia with waffer-thin Guanciale and a sprinkling of 90% cocoa content grated chocolate, truly fantastic, maybe not for the faint hearted. Followed by the best Beef Tartare of my life. The next was gnocchi in parmesan sauce with chicken liver. Then there was Catfish with a herb sauce followed a half Quail roast stuffed with sweetbread. Truly-truly great all the way. Dessert was a lactose and sugar-free Passionfruit Cheesecake with a glass of late harvest Szepsy. We enjoyed the meal thoroughly! It was excellent. Being local, although living far away now, it really warmed my heart that this sort of perfection can be found here in rural north part of Hungary. Thank you for that to everyone who passionately contributed. You could tell they were passionate. There were some negatives though which took the shine of our visit, but everybody can have a bad day and I appreciate that. Hence, the 5 star rating. The service, although it was attentive, started out not quite how it should have. We arrived in time, couple of minutes to spare to our reserved time. Than the first waiter who dashed past me, asked me over his shoulder, if we have a reservation, and what my name was. He was clearly busy and said 'Just a minute!' This followed what felt like ages, but surely it was not more than 4-5 min awkward standing around for us in the middle of a busy arriving area where people were walking past, waiters were running about with heads down focusing on the job at their hand and nobody said a word. You could see it was busy, there were tables with reserved sign on them clearly visible and we were just standing there. Maybe for other more important people? Who knows? Nobody came to seat us at the empty nearby barstools and table, or offer an explanation that it was a temporary problem and I could see two waiters were debating about seating problems. That was when I approached them and asked if there was an available table or not. The other waiter apologised and said he was not sure if the table on offer is suitable to us.??? That is a rookie mistake to ask such question, although the table seemed fine to our eyes. It is really difficult to redeem yourself from a situation like that. What I am saying is if you dare to charge 12.5% service charge you need to address araising issues before they became pressing problems. The other that I would suggest is to use little print outs about the matching wines. There was an own label Champagne, Crémant or Sparkling wine from France to start with (who knows what it was), although it did tasted autolytic enough to be at least a Crémant. Even the robust rose coped well with the stake tartare and the Szepsy Late Harvest and the Barta Furmint were superb. I am into wine. Well-versed in it. Not a little, but a lot. I am possibly your worst nightmare when it comes to wine (or food) as I have questions and I like to look into it later. Although all wines were great, some of them absolute top-quality, I cannot remember all. So the quickly rehashing of basics as Sommelier service does not cut it as far as I am concerned. They do have a very impressive selection of wines on site, it was delightful to see quality products on display. Next time when we are back I may buy that Sassicaia I was eyeing up.More

Original flavours, great tastes in a comfy environment, mandatory for lovers of Italian cuisine. Great service. Dont miaa the home made lemonade and pick something from the daily menu. In any case choosing the tasty cruncy pizza cannot be a bad choice.

After visiting the Tokaj wine region several day we decided to end up in glory our trip. we have chosen this restaurant based on positive reviews. We took the coursed menu with wine pairing and we were impressed. The food was nicely presented and the...taste was to die for. Some of the pairings might need some attention but overall the experience was one of a kind. For sure the best restaurant in he region and one of the best in the country. Thank you guys for making our night one to remember forever. We will be back.More

Absolutely perfect restaurant in my opinion. Not easy to take a reservation, and get a place, but if you know the quality of the service, the meals and the stuff, it’s totally understandable. Obviously a fine dining restaurant, so not cheap, but totally worth it....I was never disappointed, and don’t miss any opportunity to visit this place. All time favorite!More

Simply put: if you die, and go to heaven, the official, almighty-approved-restaurant "upstairs" is this place: Anyukám Mondta. In my lifetime (45 years) , I have very rarely - I'd say, almost never - found the interior ambiance, service and food in such sync. It's...THE perfect combination of all mentioned experiences, one that could tried to be copied elsewhere, but would certainly fail 99 times out of a hundred. With a party of four best friends , I had the cabbage soup with lamb and the main course was the perfect crispy veal with mashed potatoes and mixed salad. I've also "stolen" pieces of sticky ribs, "marhapofa" and Margherita Pizza. All unmatched of anything close I've ever tasted in the same league. Chef and staff: you've not only created and served up a true masterpiece, but along with it, a forever-minted experience that'll be impossible to match, but surely will be tried to be passed on to all my friends and business partners through my lifetime to come.More
