The previous landlord exited and made way for a new one, Anita - who has brought the pub back to a decent standard. We’ve been for a few of their “Curry Nights”, now on Wednesdays, and enjoyed the variety of dishes offered on different weeks...More

Had sunday lunch here today. Food was of a good standard - hot and tasty. Only thing was it took just over an hour for the food to arrive. I wouldn't say it was incredibly busy either although there was a large group dining before...More

With fresh flowers on the tables, a good menu (amazing posh fish finger sandwich with fresh granary chunky bread), and tasteful, heritage decor there is a lot to really like about this pub! Plenty of space, a good atmosphere, a wood stove in winter, a...More

Walked into pub to be told by member of staff they were not open till 3pm. When I pointed out it was 5 past 3, I was bluntly told they weren't ready. No suggestion to make ourselves comfortable until they were sorted. We returned outside...More

My wife and I ate here following dreadful service at a nearby hostelry. The food here was tasty and well prepared and the portions were huge. Service was friendly and they are obviously keen to please. The only possible downside is the rather sparse and...More

We visited the Queens Head for a quick lunch. The menu looked promising. The staff warm and welcoming. The pub itself looked quite cosy. However, we waited 40 minutes for a jacket potato and a toastie, bearing in mind at the time of our order...More

Yes my partner had sausage and mash which he really enjoyed. Can’t remember what else they did but there was a good choice and fresh. Try it I’m sure you won’t be disappointed 😃

New owners who didn't understand the popularity of the previous owners and didn't build on that. Instead they were both disparaging about them (which has upset locals) and changed what is on offer. It's very sad.
