Sadness and horror, one of the best Innsolution in the area is no longer. Signs announce a gurakka India soon opening. No more lovely English quality food with local produce. A huge loss.

Always enjoyed visiting the Royal Oak but unfortunately it is now closed and is to become the Matlock Gurkha Inn. Highly recommend the Gate Inn Pub located within Tansley village for great food & drink.

We visited at midweek lunch for some food and a drink. Staff were very friendly and the food arrived quickly. The quality of the meals was very high and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
