Recently renewed , Spielboden is by far the best place in Saas-Fee ski resort for a nice lunch when skiing. Located on the slopes the sunny terrace is amazing. Fine food , good wines & always served with a smile !!!

Arrive early and enjoy a leisurely lunch. Excellent food well presented. Would recommend the three courses chosen from the list at 65CHF. A tad pricey but a real hike in quality compared to the average mountain restaurant . An interesting wine list with enough variety & prices to satisfy most wine lovers.

We visited this highly rated restaurant at the end of last week to celebrate in style at the end our ski vacation. The setting was perfect as we were surrounded by fresh powdery snow, an imposing view of the huge mountain tops and glaciers hovering over us, and to top it off beautiful radiant sunshine. We sat on the terrace... More

Nice setting and ambience. Set lunch at chf65 was v good value. Starter of trout was great. Wiener schnitzel was tasty but light on the veal and not the "oreille d'elephant" that some might expect. Extensive selection of good wine of the mood takes one. Nice Selction of half bottles for those who need to ski afterwards- which was us.... More

What I like up the mountain is hearty food and a cosy, mountain hut like atmosphere with a log fire and/or a relaxed spot to rest up with a good view of others toiling on the slopes. For those things there are better places to go above Saas-Fee. But if you want Michelin star food up the mountain this is... More

If you're in SF to ski then you must eat here, make sure you book and if in Dec/Jan book the early session (12 O'clock) as you'll lose the sun after about 1.30 and it's freezing sitting outside. Service is very good (David runs it, v efficient) and food was marvellous (Edging towards fine dining), you can eat inside but... More

Service and food excellent, but I would recommend to eat inside. Although lovely fur throws are provided it gets very nippy after a very short time.

This is by far the best mountain restaurant in Saas-Fee. Loved the service - professional and easy at the same time. Food is superb, so is the interior. And they serve the best Apfelstrudel in the world ;) They only have two reservation possibilities at 12 and 14. Do book in advance.
