One of the best authentic meals we had in Germany. Friendly staff. Large menu selections. Truly home-cooked.

Don't be put off by the dated as the food is excellent. Given the lack of variety in German cuisine the quality of ingredients needs to be top notch; they were here. Lovely bottle of German Pinot noir and a delightfully helpful waiter.

We dined at this restaurant two nights in row. Located on the promenade overlooking the river, this restaurant offers key German dishes, skillfully prepared at moderate prices. Be prepared not to understand the menu wording unless you're fluent. The waiter will try to help, otherwise look for schnitzel or sauerbraten, both excellent choices. My partner ordered veal cordon bleu twice.... More

The restaurant has a lovely setting on the second floor overlooking the river. We ordered pork medallions and pork schnitzel and... it was the best meal of my life! And the schnitzel I greedily stole from my wife and nephew was also amazing (their portions were large). The vegetables were excellent as were the roast potatoes. I really enjoyed my... More

We enjoyed a good meal sitting at the window overlooking the river. I had trour and my wife asparagus, both dishes were tasty. Service was attentive.

We were looking for a restaurant serving traditional Pfalzer food and took the suggestion of our concierge that this was the place to go. As I wanted to make sure we got in, I decided to walk down and book directly. My immediate thought was that it looked old fashioned and I walked out without booking. However, getting back to... Starting our two day stay in Cochem, we searched for a good restaurant in which to have, a good meal in a quiet setting. Hidden amongst the "touristy" restaurants was this gem. You are welcomed, served, and cared for by an elderly couple whose age is only a positive to the experience. Starched linen tablecloths and napkins, flowers on the... More

This restaurant is located on the second floor, with a view on the river. The other restaurants with the same vantage point seemed like tourist traps. This restaurant was a great surprise. Beautiful fish, sauces. Excellent wine and beer. Friendly service even though we do not speak German! Beautiful, candlelit environment, with excellent linens. No paper napkins here. Super reasonable... More

A fine local restaurant with good asparagus and fish. The wait staff look like they have served there for at least 40 years and thus they know their menu.
