Authentic comfortable surroundings, big portions of delicious well-prepared food with excellent presentation, excellent beer and drinks, and all at reasonable prices. Friendly welcoming service even though we were plain ordinary American tourists and not RIck Steves walking in with a camera crew. We haven't been so satisfied leaving a restaurant in a long time. We rate them #1 in Germany,... More

Thanks to trip advisor we went early to this restaurant in town. It was packed and buzzing with noise. Excited locals all meeting up for dinner and or drinks. The waiter managed to find us a fabulous table and provided us with a menu in English. We were delighted when our orders arrived including the baked Camembert and other snitzel... More

I was bought here by a friend who lives in Ratingen as he told me the local Altbier was what everyone drank in the area. After drinking the beer that is brewed here I was sold on the stuff! The beer is fresh, full of flavour and the pub itself was what I expected a small town German pub to... More

If you like good home style German food, full of flavour, very large portions washed down with great beer and friendly staff, this is the place for you (and me). Plus the prices are fantastic value for money.

Pork with sour cabbage and mash potatos is what I got but the real name of the dish? Who knows, may be other reviewer could help here but anyways the real deal is their dark ale in house brew. Really good beer. My friend allowed me to taste the pork veil with roasted potatos and it was also great. Top... More

I visited the Brauhaus in April, and had a great meal with a colleague. I had the wienerschnitzel and chips and my colleague had an egg-sort-of dish (sorry, im english!) and we had a few beers between us, and the bill came to a very agreeable amount. If your looking for good, local eats, this is the place.

Was alone for my first night in Ratingen on this trip and viewed restaurants on Trip Advisor. The Ratinger Brauhaus was rated number one, so I began the half mile walk from my hotel. The place was very busy (tip: make reservations) but I was able to squeeze myself into a seat at the bar and ordered the schnitzel. The... More

Delicious food, very fair prices and friendly services. What else do you want? Seems so popular with locals that at time you better book beforehand. Only the Espresso left to desire if you apply high criteria.
