It's a must go for beer lovers in a unique bavarian beer joint close to Frankfurt. You meet lots of locals there, sharing a table with other guests is no problem.

Although, I never had the pleasure to eat at the Brauerie Schlappeseppel, I took great pleasure in drinking their beer. I was introduced to the beer by an old German friend, Leander, of Kleinostheim...my hometown of 16 years. Besides the great tasting beer, the brewery has a great Bayerische Küche (Bavarian cuisine) menu. The brewery is located next to the Schloss... More

This place is very close to schloss Johannisburg, and is very popular with locals and tourist alike. The building has been there since 1634, and was originally a brewery, brewing the German beer of the same name. indeed there is still a brewery museum to the rear of the bulding. The previos time I visited here with a group of... More

We were recommended to visit this great Bavarian Pub, by a fellow customer in the Restaurant next door. The recommendation was an excellent one. A real warm Bavarian welcome from the locals to two English visitors; language barrier or not.

This place is right up the street from the castle and very cool. Food was good as well as the beer. Did not accept credit card which was disappointing.

This is a must go place if you are in Aschaffenburg! The place is named for a beer they used to brew there. Now it's s pub with good food and serve Faust beer witch is very good. But no Schlappeseppel beer for some crazy reason? There is still old beer brewing stuff in the back of the restaurant. Very... More

The food was ok, nothing impressive, but I had a turkey schnitzel with mushrooms that was tasty but the rest of the plate was filled with a bunch of French fries. It was pretty packed but we found space up near the back where the old brewing equipment sits. Many tables were playing cards and enjoying the evening with each... More

This restaurant in well knows from it´s traditional menu. And that´s true: Foods are traditional german foods, and portions are big (as usually in Germany). Service was good, and pricelevel was very cheap! We had a group of 35 persons, but still the service was quick and friendly.

What a fantastic evening we have just had. Found this brew house on trip advisor and decided to give it a go. The beer is fantastic, the staff helpful and the locals a joy to chat to. We speak no German so they spoke to us in broken English. They were really great fun and we have a super evening.... More
