We stopped at Bräustüberl Weihenstephan on our way to Nuremberg from Munich. It was a cold and dreary December afternoon, but the warm restaurant was very welcoming! I am a vegetarian and had the vegetarian dumplings with a dark beer; both were excellent! My husband had meatballs with mashed potatoes and my kids shared the salmon. Everyone was very happy... Good exercise to walk up the hill from the Main Street. Enjoy the views. Traditional Bavarian food and home brewed beer served by staff in Bavarian dress. Good English spoken. Very popular!

Second time here and this place really delivers! Enormous portions of well-prepared solid good food. German food squared or even cubed, but with a touch of class. Service is efficient, from placing our orders for food we waited less than 10 minutes before the dishes arrived. We had duck, bergschnitzel, ox cheek, brewers pan and it all was great -... More

Superb atmosphere and location. Its popularity propelled it to be a tourism must in Freising which brings with it a bit of loss of the real Bavarian feeling, but a great place to visit.

Bavarias oldest brewery offers great local food at decent prices. The fish stew was outstanding and the Flammkuchen are an ever popular choice. The staff are friendly and you can bring your four legged friend. Not to mention the excellent Bavarian beer. Recommended!

Huge fans of Weihenstephaner it was compulsory to visit here whilst staying in Freising. The building itself is rather magnificent inside and out! The service was extremely professional, the food was typical Bavarian fare which was delicious and the beers.......wow! We went on two occasions and never disappointed. I'd have to recommend the Vitus, the best I've had! Enjoy!

Was picked up by a friend form the airport and they had chosen to come here. Traditional Bavarian food apparently. Was very nice have to say. I had the Hirschgoulasch which was very tasty and just enough for lunch. Also had a Helles beer which was very refreshing. Claims to be the oldest pub in the world. Clearly has been... More

This place is a very nice experience for lunch or dinner. Established in 1020 and operating ever since - this is the oldest continuously operating brewery in the world. Why is this relevant - the beer of course! Great beer selections and excellent food options. I enjoyed the potato dumplings with pork and gravy. Don't miss it.

This brewery claims to be the oldest continuously operating brewery in the world. We had an overnight at the airport so went there rather than taking nearly an hour to go downtown to the Hofbrau Haus. The food was good (pork knuckle and crispy duck) but the atmosphere can't compete with the Hofbrau Haus. The beer hall is new construction... More
