This restaurant is what you'd expect to find in Germany. The people are very friendly, the food is good and the place seems to be traditionally decorated. Would definitely eat there again.

We were four adults at dinner (of 2 generations; the younger ones live in Germany, the older ones were visiting), staying in nearby Marxzell. Our hosts recommended the Klosterscheuer, and we're glad they did! We had a a delicious advent dinner here after visiting nearby Christmas markets. The noise level was minimal, and the thick walls and inset windows of... More

I celebrated my wedding in the rustical conference room upstairs. Food was very good, as was the service. Waitor spoke English and French, which helped a lot. Very easy atttitude towards self-provided cake, flexibility regarding last minute changes (children do change their minds, don't they) and extra requirements (such as serving vegetarian or even vegan dishes). And all that really... More

After a few days in this liittle cool town with no doubt this is the best place. Very good food, german specialities with international touch, meat as well as fish. Very ggod starters with the familiar service that we like. You feel at home. Splendid terrace. No rush. Amazing selection of good wines. Best german white wines that you dont... More

I took a traditional dish in this place, the "maultashen". It's minced meat in a coat of pasta. I've had this dish a lot of times but these where absolutely the best I even had.

We were staying in Keltern, but decided to make the half-hour drive here based on its tripadvisor recommendations. The atmosphere was wonderful as other reviewers have described - a wooden construction built over the ruins of a cloister and filled with objects of archaeological interest. Anyway, we had the trout - which our waiter informed us had been freshly caught... More

We ate at the Klosterscheuer twice following recommendations on Trip Advisor and can confirm they are still well deserved. They serve traditional local dishes such as Schnitzel and Maultaschen (which is pasta based) in pleasant surroundings. The service is good and the prices reasonable for the quality of the food. Unlike many of the restaurants in town they do accept... More

We enjoyed fresh asparagus, new potatoes and a "small" salmon steak. The asparagus was brilliant, the salmon expertly pan fried and quite sizeable and the new potatoes so tasty, we didn't even pour the prepared melted butter over them. A superb lunch!

The atmosphere of this place is very nice: old building restored with taste. It was asparagus season, so we had soupe of it to start and for main dish asparagus with hollandaise sauce. All good. For desert some ice cream. With two glasses of local white wine and two espressos all together 67 euros. Very reasonable. First the service was... More
