We stayed in a Comfort room which was really to a high standard; it appeared as if the rooms had recently been renovated and the bathroom and shower were amazing. I particularly liked the radio in the bathroom! The food was amazing on the evening...and the breakfast was wonderful (but a little too much!). They are no longer doing the buffet breakfast due to COVID so instead they bring food to your table. The only problem is it is far too much and I think you end up eating more than you would have done from the buffet. We only stayed one night but I can highly recommend this hotel. The only downside I would say is the "spa" is very small although done out nicely, but if you are not going to a hotel for the Spa facilities then this is not real downside.More

Our friends, who had been here several times in the past, were excited to take us to this restaurant and we are all eagerly anticipating a lovely lunch however it ended up being the worst food during our entire 16 day trip to Germany! My...pork was very tough, so much so it was difficult to cut it with a steak knife. After just one bite our friend couldn’t eat his chicken dish because, as we later learned from our waiter, the cook “forgot” to remove the skin. How does that happen at a restaurant known for its “quality”? Our waiter was rude which added insult to injury. The only redeeming factor was the setting but that wasn’t worth the drive or money! Our friends were not only disappointed but embarrassed for having brought us here.More

I've enjoyed writing excellent reviews of this restaurant, but not this time. Our group of four, including guests from the U.S.A. anticipated a delicious lunch in the truly beautiful hotel/restaurant. Of three different lunch "specials" NONE were of a decent quality and NONE were worth...the high price. One sent the lunch back- ridiculously heavily breaded and fried chicken breast WITH SKIN. I've attached a photo, this entree was $30.00. It was embarrassing to have taken guests. Our waiter took it off the bill, but didn't even offer an after dinner schnapps or coffee or anything to make up for the poor quality of our meals. In years pasts we've enjoyed anniversaries, birthdays, Christmas, Easter and so many other special occasions. That was the past.More

We came here expecting an amazing experience and were slightly disappointed by a good dinner. Prices here are high as the presentatation is fine, but the greeting from the chef was a mini beer and a slice of bread with schmalz! Very rustic! As is...the decor, plain wooden tables with mats and lots of dead animals as it is called the hunting lodge. Still... Wine was Ok but have had much better elsewhere for rather less. Oysters and a mixed fish platter then the grilled lobster with vergetables and a bottle of old vine Riesling was 200 euros. Friendly service but slow. Not sure would come back.More

Me and my husband visited the restaurant on August 2017 and they had a unique menu of chanterelle mushrooms that grew at woods around the hotel. It was very delicious and refined. The kitchen gladly accommodated with my dietary restrictions and adjusted on the dishes....The price was reasonable for good quality food. The service, however, was a bit slow and our lovely waitress was a bit distracted and not attending to our table properly. I would definitely recommend the restaurant if you are in the area and looking for high end dining experience.More

The area restaurants are very inexpensive, except for this one. Had to try it out... The atmosphere is wonderful. Staff dressed to the period and friendly, it's really special. The wine selection was nice, even found our 'local' South African wines. Food was ok. This...is probably one of the only places in the area where you eat how one is accustomed to globally, where good food is paired with good wine. But comes at a price. Guess it's striking because of where it is, and relative to all restaurants around it.More

We were taken to this local hotel restaurant by our German hosts for a nice dinner for 4 on a Sunday evening. The waiter wore traditional lederhosen and was more than friendly and professional. The food, while very good, was quite expensive, as was a...German Riesling wine. Two opted for the fixed menu at Euro 59 each, while one person had a Carpaccio and another an octopus. Recommended for a fine meal out, but bring a full wallet.More

I have to start that I use to be skeptical about German food. We came to Glashütte because my friend is working hard to show me otherwise. When I saw restaurant I was amazed with decoration and very nice service. Ok now to menu. I...am American so when I saw steak there I knew, I must try it. I warned politely our server ( with a smiley face) that I'll test it, if it truly American steak. Soon we had a visit from the owner, very distinctive, carrying, and professional looking gentleman. As soon he found out I'm American and ordered the steak he went straight to a kitchen and explained to chefs, that the steak must be done perfect. And I can tell you, everything we ordered was just beyond awesome. It's a must come and taste place plus a beautiful surroundings.More
