We had a bowl of soup for lunch and were served by a very friendly woman, who recomended the absolutely wonderful soup and treated us likewise.

This was a very busy place and understandably why. The cake was very tasty along with the coffee. The staff were very personable. I would suggest getting there before you get hungry as there might be a wait as seeing everyone that was coming and going from this place.

I found out after visiting finkenherd that it's competition is across the road at cafe Vincent and both specialize in cheesecake. Anyway we stopped in here for a coffee, it's quite a nice interior, it's kind of rambling and over two floors. We were sat at the window with a nice view. The tables and chairs seem to be original... Very good Schnitzel and Bratwurst. The tomato soup was some of the best I've had. Fabulous cheesecake for desert. The menu is in German and not a lot of English spoken here. 38 Euro for 3 soups, entree's and drinks.

Visited twice with my family and found the staff very good, spoke English which does help. Having said that if you go to Quedlinburg don't expect to much spoken or written English, not that it mattered to us - probably why we loved it so much. As said above staff were very good as were the "cakes" leave any weight... More

Cosy, warm, attractive and the food's pretty good too. Whether it's + or -3 degrees outside or probably when it's 30, I would imagine this is a welcome spot for a meal or just a piece of cake and a beverage of your choice. In their warm and charming dining room it didn't take long for the feeling to return... More

Café am Finkenherd is the kind of place that you keep coming back to - the service is friendly and quick, the cake selection mouth-watering and the setting just lovely, inside and out.

Sits at the base of the abbey hill in a nice square in the old town. We each tried a different bowl of soup, which was very good, followed by a piece of cheesecake, which was great. I wish we had skipped the soup and doubled up on the cake. There was an amazing selection of them to choose from... More

We dropped into the Finkenherd for Tea, Coffee and Cake and were immediately struck by the lovely atmosphere in an historic house right beside the castle. It is an ideal place to take a break after sight seeing. The cakes are really fantastic. They had a large choice of traditional baked cheesecakes which looked and tasted great. The staff are...
