Excellent food. Very warm welcome when we arrived and excellent service throughout the evening. Lovely ambience and, overall, a very enjoyable experience. We will definitely be visiting next time we are in the area and would thoroughly recommend the Olive Tree. It was the best meal we had on holiday by far.

We booked the olive tree a long time in advance as we heard it could get bust although the restaurant was not full on the night which was good. The service is interesting as only one person takes the orders and serves the food and drink although they were funny and very welcoming. The food itself was well priced and... More

Delicious food, presented well based on locally sourced ingredients that are as fresh as you can imagine. The restaurant's policy of not having multiple sittings means no one has to rush about and the whole experience is relaxed. On top of that, it isn't even madly expensive. It was so good we went twice in three days to try other... More

Went to the Olive Tree in October 2013 and had an excellent meal so booked again this time when we where in St.merryn . You always are slightly apprehensive about going back after such a good meal last time, but not let down at all. From the moment we walk in the door nothing is too much trouble, food was... More

"Went there last Monday evening at half past eight. There were tables free, but all the man said was no sorry. No reason. We were two middle aged couples, hardly rowdy. Rude and not only that, it smelled very unpleasant. Better off crossing the road to Waves."

It’s very upsetting to get a review like this after nearly 5 years of building our reputation, but hopefully this will answer your complaint adequately. We don’t open on Mondays and are not sure when you tried to get a table, but here’s how we work. As you will have seen, we are only a small restaurant, run by the... More

We had a wonderful meal here last night. Everything we had was excellent...starting with my goat's cheese and beet root mousse and my husband's salmon dish to my chicken and his sole. There was no room dessert but they looked wonderful. We wondered why other places nearby were so much more expensive...for just a piece of fish, when this meal... More

From start to finish this little restaurant, the waitress and food were excellent. The four of us turned up without booking and were immediately greeted by the friendly waitress. She found us a nice table and was genuine and attentive. The menu wasn't vast but everything sounded delicious and there were a few specials too, equally as tempting. We chose... More

The Olive Tree in St Merryn opens for dinner from Tuesday to Saturday from 6.30pm). Our food is largely influenced by Mediterranean cuisine and, indeed, anywhere you might find olive trees growing. We focus on making the most of the wonderful fresh produce available in Cornwall, and we source our fish, meat, dairy and most of our fruit & vegetables from local producers. Reservations are recommended, and please let us know in advance if you have any special dietary requirements. Please note that the restaurant will be closed for the 2015 winter break from November, reopening in March 2016. .
