Excellent food. Excellent staff. Excellent setting. Excellent atmosphere. Excellent portion sizes. And with the as we so often see the quality usual dips, but this is a real exception. Big plate full of incredible food. Thoroughly enjoyed it

I arrived for lunch today with my wife and two children 8 & 5, who were literally beside themselves with hunger. We had visited the nature reserve a few miles and thought this pub was a move choice out of the way. It is a Tuesday afternoon in the height of the summer months, they advertise lunch orders available between... More

We have been back here many times, but this time it was hard to book ahead because they were full up every night for 4 nights in a row - being a very sought after pub, as usual the atmosphere was just great! the owners Lisa and Mark have worked hard to putting in everything they can and this time... My family and I were appalled at the terrible service from a very miserable, grumpy and damn right rude waitress. I have dined at this pub regularly and decided to take my family there for a simple ploughman's lunch during the week. we arrived at 1.10pm, found a table in the garden, then made our choices from their menu. by... Being a villager I use this restaurant twice a month, the food whether outside in the garden or inside is always excellent. Fresh local produce cooked on the premises and there is always plenty of it, and a basic meal for 2 costs less than a takeaway. The owners take great pride in the food they serve so they do... More

Look a bit fanc y but in fact was lovely, not has lots of tables outside, Although a couple of quid more for each mea then expected, the extra was well worth it, this was reflected in the quality of ingredients used. Home cooked smoked ham, local eggs and lovely chips. The cottage pie was topped with cheese and quality... More

Have eaten here a number of times for dinner but this was for a lunch. We went with my in-laws and sister and they ate off the seniors menu, £8.95 for 2 courses. Very large portions and great food choices. The menu is extensive which usually causes me concern but all our food was very well prepared. We did a... More

Recently visited this pub following its re-opening. First it is a lovely pub and the new owners are obviously spending money on it. The food was good but..... I had emailed booking a table and had a reply confirming this. However no reservation had been made. Not a problem as it wasn't overly busy. Lovely day so sat outside. We... More
