The food is very good but the wait between courses was far too long and the atmosphere - sitting on the "terrace" outside next to an irritating tap pouring water into some grotto thing - was distinctly lacking

It was a busy night in Vaison and this was not our first choice. Perhaps the fact that it was not fully booked was a clue. After an unenthusiastic welcome, our server's comment when I asked for wine recommendations was that she didn't drink wine! That was it. I then flagged down the woman who appeared to be the maitre... We visited this restaurant and had an amazing time. We still think about our meal there and wish we had gone earlier in our trip so we could've returned. The food was the best we had, every course was outstanding. We felt for the quality of the food, it was worth every euro we spent! Highly recommend this gem of... More

We have just eaten a beautiful meal (dinner) at Le Bateleur - a three course menu with fixed entree (veal terrine) and dessert (deconstructed strawberry tart) and a choice of 2 main courses (pork belly or fish); with genuinely lovely amuse bouche prior to the meal, delicious rustic bread rolls during, and a surprise extra with coffee! Each serving was... More

Amazing food, amazing presentation. I've been to Michelin star restaurants which haven't been anywhere near as good as The Bateleur. Good friendly service. We live in the area but have never been before so had a nice chat with the chef too. Can't wait to go back.

My wife and I enjoyed one of the best meals of our 2 weeks in France at Le Bateleur. It is a small elegant restaurant in the middle of town. The food was both excellent and elegant with the desserts being true showpieces. While strolling through town during the day, we accidently met the owner/chef when he was unloading fresh... More

The service here is so friendly and the restaurant very welcoming, and intimate. The food is beautifully presented with some great combination of ingredients, worth taking time to explore the menu. The set menus are also good value for the choice of food and qualify.

Many thanks for a really wonderful dinner amongst great friends. Very friendly welcome (including our little dog) in a lovely setting. Everything from the apéro to the coffee & sweets was truly excellent. Food was delicious, accompanied by an excellent choice of wines (loved the Cairanne & wish I noted the name). Looking forward to our next visit.
