Based on TA reviews, we chose this restaurant on a Saturday evening in June. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy, so we could eat outside at ground level, inside the restaurant, or on the en haut first floor terrace. The terrace was our choice, and was...a good choice. Fine view over the Square below. The staff were extremely helpful, we chose the vegetarian menu for my friend, and with some help, a gluten-free menu for myself. Both menus were excellent, and a bottle of Blaye Bordeaux at €25 was a worthwhile addition. Total bill for a very enjoyable meal was €89.00. Money well spent. For location, staff, and value-for-money this restaurant deserves a 4 out of 5 Mark - 5 our 5 would have been in order only if we weren’t charged for eating! Looking for a quality lunch we took a chance as the menu looked good. What a revelation! Staff were excellent, friendly but very professional. Ambiance was good. The menu "Tradition" was superlative and excellent value.

Located on the quiet side of the Place de la Brèche. Book a table beforehand, or you might be disappointed. Ask for a table on the terrace (one flight up), from where there is a view of the square. From start to finish the food...was a delight for the palate and to the eyes. Very friendly, helpful professional waiters. To top it off, you know how you often have to wait for your bill and again for the credit card machine or your change? Not here. We were asked to just go downstairs when we were ready to leave. Two taps on the touchscreen, and there was our bill. The menu contained meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes. I wish we had something like this in my home town.More

What can you expect having diner in a country where food is served of excellent quality. This restaurant serves food of the season. The staff is friendly, and even talks English. If you are in niort and look for a good place to eat this...is the place. Please book otherwise it could turnout in a disappointing experience.More

We have a 2nd house in France and often pop into Niort. Had lunch today and have to say the food was fantastic! My veal was superb and my wife's cod was equally good. Desert was superb again - we both had mousse with caramel...- to die for. Great service and an all round lovely experience!More

We were exploring the region and stayed at a nearby hotel. We had seen the reviews for this place on Tripadvisor, so we decided to try it. It was an amazing meal. I had a dish that featured beef two ways. One part was braised...beef with sweet potato puree and the other was a filet. It was absolutely delicious. I can't remember what my husband had since I was too busy with my own dish. I'm certain you can choose blindly and it will be great. The desserts were works of art! Just go and try anything on the menu.More

My wife and I (and the dog) went here for dinner during a 1 night stop-over in Niort. Dogs welcome (of course - it's France !), the service was very good, even with my broken French, and the food was fantastic. Don't be shy if...you don't speak great French. We interpreted the menu with Google Translate. Very easy, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit.More

Went to this originally decorated restaurant with my mother and my aunt. I found the experience really great... the amuse bouches were a good introduction to the meal, the set menu we took was balanced and true to the taste, from starters, through the wonderful...pigeon and truly world class desserts. Besides I got an absolutely delicious sweatbread a la carte..i have big appetite!Bread is homemade, service is lively, knowlegeable, very friendly...wine list has some good found, beautiful Vouvray sparkling, and amazing Olga Raffault Chinon 'les picasses'! We had a group dinner and the food was excellent from beginning to end. Service was very friendly. It is a restaurant that offer a nice atmosphere.

I think the places à little overrated, but it was good with good selection of wine owner and Waiters were Nice and professionals. Prices are à little high. A Nice place but not the best restaurant in Niort.
