We went for dinner at Auberge du Vieux Fermier in October 2016. The restaurant (with rooms above it) is house in a 17th century building beautifully renovated. There are two main rooms, which one could describe as the "kitchen" more intimate with a large working fireplace ; the "living room" more imposing. There's also the bistro which is very modern.... Delighted to discover such a great hotel, however, the restaurant was incredible! Delicious food. Opted for the grilled gambas( cooked on their open fire) to start then their speciality pork dish ( since 1975). Couldn't fault any of it.

The restaurant was decorated in the same style as the hotel, with a wood burning oven. The meals were traditional and cooked to perfection. The hotel owner would personally come and discuss the menu telling you everything you needed to know - it all seemed wonderful and it was hard to choose. Highly recommended was roast suckling piglet- which my... More

The restaurant has some of the best local cuisine, lovingly presided over by the chef. There is a fantastic rotisserie and the back of the restaurant, where you can see your food being cooked. I recommend the whole mackeral. It is superb. Also the the local delicacy of tongue with fois gras, layered with mouth watering accomplishments including a superb... More

Reasons to go: Old (medieval) coaching inn in the middle of town. Comfortable rooms. About 110 minutes from Calais ferry so a good place to stop to/from the channel crossing. Food is superb with a roast being cooked on an open fire in the restraint. Easy to find taking the "centre ville" exit from the main road and following your... More

The old part is a restaurant of great charm and cobbled floors - unfortunately, the Sunday evening we went there was a loudly crying baby there and it seemed to be a heavily meat based menu, I am a vegetarian....so my Husband decided we should eat in the Bistro part, which has a totally different ambiance. It was our fault... More
