Not fancy, not expensive, just great food with great people in a very pleasant atmosphere. Our second visit here ( we have been to its older sister restaurant inLille a couple times on each of five annual visits). The young chef puts out very good...food, while owner Pierre and server Matteas ( maybe spelled differently) make guests feel like family. Lots of laughter fills the room. This time my wife had the fish of the day, cod with a sauce that was extraordinary., accompanied by rice and a serving of creamed leeks, which was just amazing. I had the family recipe Potjevleech, a mixture of four white meats cooked for hours and then cooled in a type of aspic. Dump the frites over the top, and the jelly softens. Sounds awful but tastes fabulous, a real treat. There is a very nice and inexpensive wine list, plus good beers. We started with an extraordinary charcuterie plate of sausages and cheeses that were superb. Dessert was the poached pear (do not miss it if available) and the cafe gourmand, a plate of three small desserts. If we return to Lille, we will be back to Pancook in Roubaix.More

We were welcomed like regulars in this restaurant and the owner got his head waiter to come over and explain in English the main features of the Hauts-de-France regional dishes. Excellent beers accompany the stews which are a house specialty. Great desert platters too. There...is also a branch in Lille City Centre.More

Everyone is very friendly and cheerful in Pancook. Their signature dish is very deceptive. The visual, does not prepare you for the really good flavours and perfectly prepared cooked food. Plus great chips. Great place.

What an awesome surprise! Stumbled in off the street and were greeted warmly by the Owner who led us through the awesome menu of fresh dishes made on premises. Delicious and unique recipes with a great wine selection. We will be back tomorrow!

Here for the Paris Roubaix Challenge and staying close by so decided to give this place a go given previous reviews and we weren’t disappointed! Lovely proprietor who made us feel really welcome and the food was delicious too! I opted to try all 3...“Pancooks” which is bread filled with 3 fillings - scrumptious ( although had to leave some of the exterior). My 8 year old wants to go back tomorrow🤣🤣.xMore

Pancook serves a great welsh -- a "real" one, as the owner will tell you, without ham, so perfect for vegetarians. :)
