We dined here on two consecutive evenings whilst in Arras, the friendly cheerful staff and excellent basic food made us not waste time looking for somewhere else. I had the beef stew on the first occasion and it was delicious, tender and full of flavour, on the second night I had the shepherds pie, also very good though maybe a... More

We went based on reviews. I had the stew which had plenty of meat but was a little tough. My husband enjoyed his meal. The staff were helpful and the food arrived quickly.

We were a party of 47 on a busy Saturday evening and our organiser had agreed a menu previously with wines. The food...oh the food.... absolutely and completely wonderful. Scallops in a sauce to die for, rice and veg; two huge cheeseboards with over 20 cheeses and all of top quality; brioche and icecream dessert .... all accompanied in turn... More

Very friendly restaurant in the centre of town. Not fine dining but the food was well cooked and substantial. The andouillette was particularly good. Good value. Would return.

What a friendly atmosphere, staff were very helpful. We had booked on line and everything was waiting for the 9 of us. The waiter was very friendly and helped all the time making suggestions and serving the food quickly which all came together. The food is rustic and wholesome, hot and tasty. This little gem is well worth a visit.... More

We visited because of the reviews, having decided not yo last night, because it looked rather dull from outside. Today we ventured into the cave- full of french people relaxing with what looked like beautiful food. The atmosphere was delightful, buzzing with entent ordialle. The service was in the same spirit as the decor ( downstairs) and the food -... More

A small restaurant just off the big plaza and very close to our hotel. Recommended in TripAdvisor so we tried it out. A busy place but we crowded in and had a very good meal with wine for a very reasonable price. Our server was quite entertaining and looked after a lot of tables efficiently, just seeming to be everywhere.... More

A party of 11 of us were touring the Somme battlefields. We dined at only two restaurants; this and the Assiette au boeuf (both recommended by our guide) and both were very good choices. Both the wife and I went for La carbonnade de jarret de boeuf à la bière which has been recommended a good deal, and quite honestly,... More

Good food, but you will need to book in advance for a group (we were 8) rather than a couple, even on a Monday or Tuesday. Friendly efficient service from one man who acts as barman and waiter to all. I can recommend the starter of scallops or foie gras, the beef carbonnade and the cafe gourmands which is tea... More
