Great little pub and restaurant. Cosy and comfortable. Menu nicely varied and not one of these huge unbelievable things. Service was good and the food so obviously freshly cooked has fresh seasonal veg. It's a popular place snd welcomes walkers seeking sustainance after "doing " the Clent Hills.

Went to meet a friend and she'd simply found this on the internet as it was close enough to where she worked. The restaurant was pretty busy with a big party of a dozen or so people, along with a few more tables, so we thought that the waiter did a very good job, especially as he was on his... More

We visited The Vine for a Saturday evening out and thoroughly enjoyed it. On entering the pub, it can be difficult getting noticed due to all the people sitting round the small bar....just a small issue. We were sat in the Dining area......a 'quaint' old fashioned room. And menus were handed out with specials available from the board. Starters were... More

On a miserable cold, damp Thursday we came here for lunch to be welcomed by a lovely warm fire in the restaurant part of the pub. The menu is more imaginative than standard pub grub with specials advertised on a board. I chose venison bobotie from the specials: it was described as their take on a South African dish with... Table pre-booked weeks ago. On arrival we were told we would Have to wait for our table to come free. During the meal I had to visit the ladies cloakroom but to get there I had to battle through the bar area of people and DOGS. DOGS for god sake this is a restaurant as well. When we came to... More

Thank you for your feedback. I'm very sorry you had such an unfortunate incident with an inconsiderate customer - we can assure you that most of our customers show far more courtesy and those that don't can be asked to leave! In regards to our policies on dogs; we allow dogs only in the lounge (not the restaurant) and they... More

Service was slow , the restaurant was extreemly drafty and cold and I had to put my coat over my knees !!! The meal was cold and the roasted potatoes were undercooked. As I suggested this place to my two buddies , I was rather embarressed .

We are sorry you weren't warm enough when you visited us - despite our best efforts of seating you by a radiator and an open fire. The building is very old but we always try and maintain a cosy atmosphere so we're sorry you didn't feel this was the case. Had you voiced any issue with the meal on the... More

Description
A Traditional English Country Inn & Restaurant...
The Vine Inn is nestled in the heart of the beautiful Clent Hills. A warm welcome awaits for all those who wish to visit a traditional English country pub that offers high quality dining in a relaxed environment.

Our first class menu has been selected to offer a discerning mixture of traditional pub favourites and to specialise in fresh fish and game - our fish dishes constantly change on our specials board while our game pie and organic venison steaks (done in a variety of ways) are popular trademark dishes.

The Vine Inn was first registered as the "Clatterback Water Mill" and what was once the old mill pond is now the garden with a decking area built near to where the water wheel was housed. It was first used as an inn offering home brewed beer, bed and stabling in 1836.
