a surprising little place - the food was absolutely wonderful. I had the canard (duck) parmentier of sweet potato - delicious. My husband had Angus beef with roasted potatoes and out-of-this-world pepper (not too spicy) sauce. Dessert: we chose the cheese plate. Wine: Beaujolais. What an evening. There was a group doing some wine tasting - we say mouth-watering aperitifs... More

This place looks and feels like a perfect little wine bar, with a cellar. According to the times shown on Trip Advisor, it is open from 11.30am-23.00 Tue-Fri. However, when we arrived at around 6pm on a Friday, it felt very much like it was just opening as we sat in the cellar watching staff arrive and take off their... More

Stunning food, and fantastic staff - even with my pigeon French and their lack of English - it just didn't matter!! A fantastic evening and not a bank breaker!!

Creative menu, with products of excelent quality and with an excelent choice of local wines. However the menu changes frequentely, so I'm not sure if the quality is always on top.

We picked this place after strolling around a bit in Macon and finding we appreciated its vibe. Its patio was full and we were lucky to get a table for 2 with no reservation. It has a short menu and everything on it is done right. We just had a main and a dessert each - one was fish, the... More

This small restaurant/bistro serves only a very limited number of dishes but it does them very well. Staff were very welcoming and explained in detail how the dishes worked. My starter was a kind of cake with smoked salmon inside. My companion had thin slices of tuna in a pastry - both enjoyable. Then I had the pork - thin... More

I liked the small restrictive menu - a few choices of traditional Burgundian dishes, which were delicious. The wine choice is excellent, and if you choose wisely, inexpensive.

After checking the TripAdvisor reviews, we visited the Le Carafe on a wet Friday night. Luckily, we arrived early and secured the last table indoors. (There are a lot of tables outside but not when it's cold or wet!). Being on a wine trip, we were interested in the wine list and were not disappointed - the whole of the... More
