The castle wouldn't let us in (44 minutes before lunch...have to buy the ticket at least 45 minutes before lunch... smh) so we wandered fougeres and stumbled upon this place... excellent. I am not joking...they were the best galettes and crepes I have ever had...and,...yes, my uncle wants me to arrange another trip back to france but I have to arrange to get to fougeres during the lunch hour so we can have his saumon fume galette...More

We enjoyed a late lunch consisting of a selection of crepes and a galette - all quite good or better. And service was welcoming and friendly

Dropped in here by chance and got the last table. Tried the local cider which was served in tea cups as is the tradition. The galettes were good and came quickly. I had one with scallops and stewed leaks.

We visited this venue yesterday evening with our four children aged 7, 6, 3 & 2. We arrived at 8.30 following an early dinner after which we had walked across the town to this establishment for ice cream and crepes. We had chosen creperie tivabro...because of the excellent reviews online. When we arrived I enquired about ordering icecream for the children and was rudely informed by an older gentleman that there was no icecream available, despite it being clearly advertised on the menu board outside and on the menus inside. I appeared confused (for obvious reasons) and he again reiterated in a very rude voice ‘NO ice cream’ and dismissive us with a wave of his hand. The restaurant was half full, including some families, and so it was very difficult to explain to our children why we were not being served. It appeared to me that he was more interested in closing the restaurant for the evening and going home than serving tourists. What bothered me most however was the way he spoke to me in front of small children, it was completely unacceptable. My advice, don’t bother with this place if you want a friendly reception and have small children.More

Wonderfully prepared crepes in an historic building. Very busy even in the depths of winter. We were despairing of finding somewhere open and unwisely opted for a gallette in another creperie in the centre of Fougeres. So we only had a crepe here, and very...delicious it was. My understanding is that gallettes are savoury and the flour used to make them contains buckwheat whereas crepes use wheat and and are sweet. Whatever, Tivabro is the best one in the town.More

The crepes are fantastic. Service was friendly. Truly authentic Breton fare. I had the salmon crepe and a salted caramel and pear dessert crepe, which were both superb. I may plan a trip back to Fougeres just to eat there again.

We have been eating at Tivabro for a number of years and it never fails to impress. We always take any visitors we have to here. Always busy so best to phone and make a reservation. Situated in the old part of the town, it...is a delight to approach it with it's timber structure walls evoking images of what the area used to look like. Staff as always were helpful and friendly, the galettes and crepes were filling and tasty. Anyone visiting Fougeres should seek out this little delight.More

Ate here with my husband and two young kids after exploring Fougeres castle. It's a quick walk from the castle. The food was delicious and service was quick.

With a group of 25 of us, the service was quick and efficient and delicious crepes were served in quick succession. A drop of cider rounded off a very good meal. Nice little courtyard at the back.

My son asked if we could go to Tivabro when he paid us a visit last weekend, as he had his girlfriend with him and he had been enthusing about it to her. She was not disappointed, it lived up to his rave reviews with...it's service and food. Set in the old part of Fougeres, close to the chateau, it is well worth a visit. Timber clad exterior with a stone and timber interior, it sets the mood for traditional bretonne fair. Thanks ot all the staff for their warm welcome.More

Saw its #1 status and thought I’d treat a family member who had never eaten in a Bretagne crêperie. Best galette ever. And had to have crepes too obviously, to finish off! And cidre doux. Loved this place. Walked off the calories easily enough climbing...up and down the hill!More

Very friendly host, and spoke English even though we tried speaking in French - how did he know? Anyway, the lunch was good, not average, good. Even though it is close to a major tourist attraction (the castle), the prices were very reasonable.
