It’s been a long time we haven’t been there, due to covid break. This restaurant does look the fanciest from the outside but what a surprise : warm and cozy inside, yummy and varied dishes. Waiters were really kind too. Would definitely recommend and will...come back asap.More

If you like western style Vietnamese you may need ok but for us the whole experience was only improved by friendly focused staff and owner. My prawn crab salad starter and beef saute grated overly sweet and after would difficult to eat. Other food looked...similar. Obviously popular owner very interactive and has many locals who use i think. This was our second visit. Probably won't goo back.More

Excellent home made meals, cosy place and so kindness service, if you like that kind of food, you really come and eat, you should book too, a few days before coming, if you do not, you should wait for the last service.

Busy and buzzy, though small, restaurant filled with young people....if you do not book then you probably won't get in (although we were lucky).....apparently they are packed out every day....just what is this restaurant trying to be?....it is not Vietnamese street food nor Vietnamese haute...cuisine...it is in the middle and I really can't make it out...so, what was good?...the nems were good (but any self respecting Vietnamese restaurant would have good nems!) and the wine (a Fronsac) was good with a fair price.....but what about the rest?...the encornet a la plancha was awful at €9...firstly, it was not a al plancha (defined as a dry dish), second it was not encornet.....just a few pieces of rather rubbery calamari in a sauce combined with onions and carrots.....my wife's brochettes were OK....my piquant Marmite was rather miserable in portion size being rather tasteless and not piquant in any way....and the waiter forget the portion of nouiles saute...so, if you are a youngster trying to impress the girlfriend/boyfriend with food that does not really deliver along with other youngsters (essentially because you have not experienced anything better) then this is the place for you....otherwise there is a better place in Pessac that might not be so "elaborate" but really delivers in the quality department that is better monetary value..... .More

As it was so hot we wanted to try a lighter evening meal. This tiny corner street restaurant is so similar to those we eat in in Vietnam. Small but extremely friendly place. The owner was very attentive, though at times you felt that he...was doing this as he knew that the tourists liked it. The food was fine and good value for money, though I would say that the food has been 'westernised' to suit western pallet. Having travelled Vietnam and loved the local foods, this was not as good.More

I have recently been on vacation with my young family to Thailand and it was a wonderful experience. Since my return I haven't had the opportunity to enjoy Thai food. Myself and colleague decided to have dinner in Noorn Akron and it was fantastic It...brought back so many memories about Thailand and the food tasted just as i remember in Thailand. The staff were very pleasant, very helpful and patient considering we were in a Thai restaurant, in France and neither of us can speak either French or Thai. 😀 Great night. ThanksMore

I go there often with my family, the food is reeeeaaally good and the owner, Ben, is the living soul of this place. Only drawback, it is so awesome that you might not get a table if you didn't book in advance!

Vietnamese cuisine is in fine form in Pessac as France’s colonization of Indochina continues to pay dividends no longer from slave labour or crippling taxes but thru south-east Asian flavours, spices & that red Asian gold that is chilli. Offering something different, the Saigon-inspired menu...includes Vietnamese staple dishes presented with a slight modern twist from a place far far away. Inside is an interesting mess of Asiatique nic-nacs, photos, paintings & postcards, a chaotic sight with a subtle south-east Asian vibe, I liked this family restaurant as soon as I stepped in. Hidden away, far off the tourist trail amongst a suburban neighbourhood, the Binh Duong Restaurant has survived for over 10 years giving the restaurant some good credibility. The chef seemed to know many of his customers & was generous with his time with us recalling interesting tales about his experiences & charming us with his good nature. He even shouted us a free Vietnamese beer, an imported 333 from Saigon to ‘share good times’ as we say in Vietnamese. Strangely missing from this restaurant’s Vietnamese menu is the essential Pho noodle soup & Vietnamese filtered coffee but the buzz from the imported Vietnamese beer somewhat makes up for it, hi five. The chef’s wife & sister run the kitchen giving the food an authentic home-style flavour, that woman’s touch only mothers know how to do with the chef putting in the finishing touches. One of the best things was it wasn’t expensive here unlike those tourist restaurants so there’s definitely room to try something exotic. On-site parking was limited but we found plenty of space within 20 metres on Rue du Bearn so it wasn’t an issue. The chef’s assistant speaks English & I was able to pay via credit card without any surcharge. We visited Pessac during a mid-week lunch service & didn’t book ahead although in future I would probably pre-book just in case. Stumbling upon the Binh Duong restaurant outside Bordeaux made for a delicious memory. Regards to the chefs!More

Nice and cosy, just a shame they don't open the top floor, they would make much more business. I've been there over 10 years now and never been disappointed. Always packed inside and the owner is running the show. The food is excellent and much...more creative than the usual Vietnamese restaurant. It's good to see some people so passionate and not fake like in some gastronomic restaurant.More

Again, I picked the TripAdvisor #1 restaurant in town. Again, it was a very good deal. And I am not the only one who can say, given the crowd who was squeezed in this tiny restaurant. The restaurant is run by a charming Vietnamese who...is undoubtedly the most welcoming waiter I ever had, judging by the two warm and energetic handshakes we had when entering and exiting the restaurant, and her sister who is the chef. Flavors from Vietnam are all over the place. Bobun, spring rolls, and shrimps, with mint, coriander, lime, chilly... Only one thing was missing to me: the Vietnamese cold coffee with concentrated milk.More

Good Asian food is not easy to find, and as we lived in Singapore before we moved to France, we have looked far and wide to try and find some ... not easy. So far we have found only one good Chinese ... until today...when we found this good Vietnamese. The place is small and intimate, but so are most Asian restaurants in Asia. Great menu with a large variety of both entrees and mains. We had the chicken salad (very good) with the steamed dumplings (good) for entrees, and the sizzling beef (very good) and prawn/calamari (good) for mains. Desserts are a bit average. Service is excellent and the owner is chatty and charming and works the room well. Parking is a bit haphazard but it is worth persevering as Binh Duong is well worth a visit. We will definitely be back.More

Small Restaurant outside of Bordeaux is very cute. The owner works the crowd like a pro. Lots of kisses and back slapping. The food was excellent. A very pleasant experience. Almost felt like we were at an "event".
