Called in twice on a recent holiday in France. Both times received a warm welcome and an excellent meal. Pizza and salad. Friendly staff excellent service at modest cost.

In more than 30 years I have NEVER eaten pizza anywhere in the world that did not contain cheese. I wrongfully assumed that the pizza that I ordered here (Armenian Pizza) would also contain cheese along with the other listed ingredients like the other pizzas on the menu. I was wrong! My dinner was disappointing. It would be helpful for... More

We were tired of the local fois gras and duck cooked three ways, so decided to give La Petite Italie a try. It's a small, friendly place with pizzas and several pasta selections. We had a tomato and mozzarella salad, followed by pasta carbonara and the homemade lasagna. Everything was reasonably tasty, but nothing was authentic. The 'mozzarella' was some... More

This cafe/restaurant is easy to find just a few minutes out of the main part of Sarlat and we thought it was a breath of fresh air after a week of French food. My crumbed chicken and my wifes pasta were cooked to perfection. And well priced too. We both wished we had found this place earlier in our Sarlat... More

We were looking for something a little different after a week of French food and my partner was set on pizza. Walking from our hotel towards the old town section we came upon La Petite Italie and it looks like just what we wanted. The pizza was very good and an excellent value. Our waitress was a delight even taking... More

That morning our B&B hosts (Balcon en Foret) had told us that if we were tired of French food to go to this tiny Italian restaurant in Sarlat. We both looked at each other and needed no words - we knew that we would definitely be eating there! The place was definitely a dive of a restaurant, but the food... More

Called in for a family lunch on a visit to beautiful Sarlat. Just out of the old town, but quiet and calm. Really good pizzas and super value. Attentive service. AND FREE WIFI! Well done to La Petite Italie.

It is a small Italian place run by a husband and wife team. If you go in with no higher expectations than decent pizza and pasta at a very reasonable price then you won't be disappointed. If you are looking for more than you will be an unhappy camper.

If you want a respite from foie gras and goose gizzards and duck-this and duck-that, this is a wonderful alternative. It's a simple joint, with no ambiance to speak of, but the food is terrific in a straightforward way, very reasonably priced, with nice wines and good service.
