With pricing a little more economical than the Regent, we were again treated to charming service at pavement-cafe tables. The food was tasty and good value for money.

We had eaten here last year on the lovely balcony, and were pleased to be offered a table there again, although we had to ask for a table "upstairs". Since every single menu in Sarlat features duck, goose, or fois gras, it is difficult to find an alternative. Both Vince and I chose from the tourist menu, which seemed incredibly good value... More

A very nice setting outside, lots of people already sitting, lots of choice and good prices, looked good, so we decided to sit. BAD decision! We were 3 adults and a child. Service - I felt like client no. 203578, machine gun ordering (as if Ok lets see how quickly I can get your order), questions are discouraged (yes/no answers... More

There are a lot of restaurants to choose from in Sarlat but we were glad we chose this one. We were warmly welcomed and given a table on the balcony overlooking the square. We both chose Coq au vin a la maison and it was absolutley delicious. House red topped it off nicely and we were thoroughly satisfied on a... More

Found this restaurant whilst walking around one of the alleyways of beautiful town of Sarlat-La-Canada. Chose their Confit of Duck which was beautifully cooked, very moist & flavoursome. I asked if they cooked it with a crispy skin but was informed that they didn't have any on the menu. I nearly passed but decided to try my luck as previously... More

Les Chevaliers is inside a little square on an alley in the city center. Lovely. The coq au vin was dry, overcooked. The gateau au noix was inedible.

Wandering around Sarlat on a dull grey day, it was a delight to find this lovely corner of the town and a warm welcome from an attentive, friendly and professional waiter at Les Chevaliers De La Tour. The restaurants in Sarlet do cater for tourists, but I felt our meal was a very good example of local cuisine. The foie... More

I don't usually write bad reviews as I much prefer to reward good restaurants rather than criticise what might be just a bad night. But this was just so bad, I have to break my usual rule. We went for one of the more expensive set menus, but still quite reasonable (19 euros for 3 courses). All the starters were... More

We went to the main entrance, and before we went in, a member of staff ushered in through a side door outside the main restaurant, into a small room which had perhaps 10/12 tables. This meant that to go to the toilet you had to go outside, into the cold through the main restaurant. The starter was promising, but the... More

First of all, two things to know about Sarlat is that being a tourist town centered around duck and foie gras, 90% of the restaurants have similar menus centering around these items. Second after the Saturday market and Sunday weekend business, it appears much of the town shuts down on Monday, so there were only a few places open. We... More
