Very good food - lovely setting

Sat in the square at the back of the restaurant. The food was really good -some dishes were excellent. The service was very quick - a bit too quick for a leisurely meal in France? [Found it interesting that the women waitresses rushed about like mad while all the men stood in the doorways... read more

We went to the main entrance, and before we went in, a member of staff ushered in through a side door outside the main restaurant, into a small room which had perhaps 10/12 tables. This meant that to go to the toilet you had to go outside, into the cold through the main restaurant. The starter was promising, but the... More

First of all, two things to know about Sarlat is that being a tourist town centered around duck and foie gras, 90% of the restaurants have similar menus centering around these items. Second after the Saturday market and Sunday weekend business, it appears much of the town shuts down on Monday, so there were only a few places open. We... More

A marvelous little restaurant that takes full advantage of the wonderful Sarlat medieval architecture. The restaurant has different aspects from the two entrances, one off a tiny passage, and one from a small plaza - both hard enough to find that you may have to ask. The feeling is "small" but they actually have a generous amount of space and... More

In a town where most restaurants serve more or less the same thing, this very pretty restaurant stands out, not just for its charm, but for the quality of the food served, and the little things that make it different from the rest. We were shown to our table on the little terrace by a beaming waiter, who brought us... More

Excellent food, service and ambiance coupled with reasonable prices made this a very satisfying dining experience for my wife and I. Even though the restaurant was completely full shortly after the start of lunch (it was market day), the three servers performed admirably. This is a restaurant that I would definitely return to.

In a tourist town, in season, it is difficult to find a mid-range restaurant that is other than mediocre. This restaurant stood out from the rest in that the cuisine, the location and the service were all better than average whilst the price remained competitive with lesser establishments.

It is one of the restaurants off the square in historic downtown, so it is pretty hard to discover, but if you search, you will be rewarded with some outstanding food. We ate there twice during our stay in Sarlat. Both times we had very good meals. I particularly enjoy the crispy duck, although my husband thought it might have... More

So disappointed with Restaurant Chevaliers de la Tour set in such a beautiful part of Sarlat, where we have stayed and eaten over the last few days and been so impressed. Choice of menu was good, price was extremely good value and I was looking forward to my main course (Coq au Vin) after a good starter. However this traditional... More

A lovely setting and some of the food was good, but the steaks were just awful, full of sinew and fat and really I could have eaten the sole of my shoe easier....over priced for what we got and we left feeling very disappointed. The service was good, but really that was the best thing about it.
