The interior was as glum as the weather

We visited Sarlat in torrential raiin on market day as the tail end of hurricane Henry wrecked havoc with the stalls holders produce and goods. what an absolutely ghastly place. Surly staff, terrible food. The coq au vin was tough and sour, the carpaccio of salmon completely tasteless bar the massive dose of uncrushed red peppercorns used on top, the creme caramel was obviously whipped up from some packaged powder and the chocolate mousse was solid as a rock. On top of that their card... More

Had lunch here a couple of days ago and it's a joke... Appalling service... Slow All the food is from frozen and not cooked... My salmon carpaccio was still frozen Fish was raw Potatoes greasy and cooked in old oil All in all this is atypical tourist trap that relies on no one coming back again. There were chicken nuggets... I cannot express strongly enough how bad this restaurant is. It is in a lovely courtyard location, but the service is appalling and the food is bland and badly cooked. 2 of us were served our main course over 20 minutes after the rest of the party, the cod was not cooked (cold and raw), the coq au vin was... It is easy to be overwhelmed by the number of restaurants in the beautiful old town of Sarlat, and we chose this because of the slightly different menu - everyone has foie gras (hate the way it is produced) duck and walnut cake in their set menus. Here is not really that much different, but it is different. We ate... More

Last night in Sarlat so great to finish with the best food and drink we had in Sarlat. We both chose the €25 menu and the pan fried foie gras with peach was stunning. I wanted a cassoulet for my last meal and my wife the salmon. The cassoulet consisted of a sausage and two duck legs in a bowl... More

Ate here on a Friday, arriving at 1pm. We had the 13 € set menu where a choice of four starters, four mains and two deserts! It was fantastic, for the price! My wife had salmon carpaccio to start then seared duck. I had pare de Fois Gras du canard ands vote de boeuf. Though rustic in nature, which is... More
