Excellent lunch. We opted for the menu with assorted wines, what a discovery. Highly recommended. The Chef took care of us personally, thank you.

This restaurant is such a great find. Gourmet Food to die for. Found in the tiny picturesque village of Riquewihr. Staff were so friendly and accomodating of our group of 15 people. Set course for 32 Euro made Jules Verne restaurant in Paris look like Maccas.

A refined French cuisine using French, and where suitable Alsatian, ingredients. Often stressed with Asian influences. The choice is not too big, but offers a good variety. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. And there is, like you would expect in a wine region, a vast choice of wines. I appreciated that the menus offered a formula with associated wines.

Gourmet sidewalk dining in a stunningly beautiful town was our experience. Attentive host, staff and service (without being intrusive) complemented our superbly prepared meals. This restaurant is located on a quiet side street which added to the enchantment. It was also helpful that they spoke some English. A must stop for dinner.

Au Trotthus is one of the best restaurants in the area. No question about that. Food was delicious, beautiful and unusual. For a fine dining experience, something was lacking: the evening was a lot about the chef's ego and not enough about us. Yes, I do expect that from an evening of fine dining.

First class food. Everything 10/10. Great location. Fantastic service. Phillippe was the perfect host. Very good for children. A set meal was served for our 6 year old that was just right. Great atmosphere, tucked away down a 'back street.' We will be back.

This time we could only stay in Riquewihr for 4 nights. We spent 2 of them here! It would be difficult to find a more welcoming environment and the food was excellent. This is a fusion that really works. The restaurant is not large so we would recommend booking.

We went to this restaurant in Riquewihr on recommendation of the owner of the local apartment in which we were staying on the basis that it is the best in the town. We were not disappointed. We had one of the set menus that offered the chance to have 3 glasses of wine selected to accompany the choice from the... More

Description
The restaurant Trotthus in Riquewihr can accommodate 40 guests and immediately wins by its warmth and its Alsatian atmosphere. The thick and old west wall is simply the wall of the rampart built during the year 1291! The setting is ancient: large exposed beams, some of which date back to the early sixteenth century, a collection of antiques collected by the owner of the house and linked to winemaking, an imposing and ancient wine press on which you can dine or drink a glass.
The Chef, Philippe Aubron, having knocked nearly 20 years around the world - from Japan to Australia and to the Caribbean - decided to drop his pots in Riquewihr. His Gourmet cuisine, inventive and refined, makes extensive use of the produce of Alsace and will satisfy the most demanding palates.
