We went to this restaurant in Riquewihr on recommendation of the owner of the local apartment in which we were staying on the basis that it is the best in the town. We were not disappointed. We had one of the set menus that offered the chance to have 3 glasses of wine selected to accompany the choice from the... More

An old traditional French house hosting a truly gourmet restaurant serving French dishes with Japanese flavours. The food is really amazing.

Had a lovely meal here. The food couldn't be faulted . Lovely lamb and quail. The starter of iberico ham was sublime. I felt the desserts were ordinary. It was expensive for what we got and the portions were a little small. We could have furred another course!

What a find - lovely warm welcoming beamed restaurant which serves superb fine quality food with an oriental twist The Chef came out to greet each diner and even found me some glasses as I had forgotten mine. The food is out of this world and we have dined in some pretty good restaurants but it is up there with... More

.....although I bet dinner would be great too. The food was very good and maybe a bit unique with the infusion of Japanese flavors in the traditional Alsace dishes. (The gregarious chef's wife is Japanese). The atmosphere was comfortable and classic looking. Just watch your head on the low hanging 500 year old wooden beams! Unfortunately for us we had... More

We visited Riquewihr over a weekend with a group of 7 ladies and our dining experience at Au Trotthus was one of the most memorable. The chef, Philippe Aubron, was attentive, witty, and a pleasure to spend the evening with. The food was delicious, innovative, and well paired with the wines of the area. The set price for the different... More

It started with a warm welcome from the owner. Each course surprised and delighted. Went for the €42 3 course menu. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening

Other than in the big cities, it is unusual to find a French restaurant that attempts to incorporate the culinary traditions of other cultures. The chef owner is a world traveler and appreciates what he has seen in other countries with a serious food ethos. Hence, the Asian and Latin riffs on some of the dishes. Clearly, this is a... More

The restaurant Trotthus in Riquewihr can accommodate 40 guests and immediately wins by its warmth and its Alsatian atmosphere. The thick and old west wall is simply the wall of the rampart built during the year 1291! The setting is ancient: large exposed beams, some of which date back to the early sixteenth century, a collection of antiques collected by the owner of the house and linked to winemaking, an imposing and ancient wine press on which you can dine or drink a glass.
The Chef, Philippe Aubron, having knocked nearly 20 years around the world - from Japan to Australia and to the Caribbean - decided to drop his pots in Riquewihr. His Gourmet cuisine, inventive and refined, makes extensive use of the produce of Alsace and will satisfy the most demanding palates.
