Comfort food on a rainy evening

Good service and a wholesome meal and popular by the locals. Owned/run by a couple - he's in the kitchen and she handles things up front. Very gracious.

What a delightful experience. The chef and his wife are the only ones in the restaurant; he is very skilled in the kitchen and she is warm and welcoming to her guests. Our food was wonderful and the wine list, while small, was very adequate.

We had a lovely dinner, prebooked which proofed to be a good idea as the restaurant was fully booked as we arrived. It was a Saturday evening which might explain why it was quite busy. Nevertheless service was quite attentative. We all had local dishes, mine was snail with Eisbein on Choucroute, meat was as expected, pretty fatty on the... More

Dined here last year and we were keen to return. Last year we booked via their website, but this wasn't working this year, so popped in at lunchtime when we arrived in Obernai to book for that evening. You will need to book - only one service per table, and several people were turned away. Service perhaps a little slow,... More

As we were on a weekend break, we were searching for local food, the service was great an even specails were accepted, (my wife is vegetarian) I had goose and my wife had salmon and a nice dessert. everything was great and we will return.

This restaurant was traditional all the way, from the charming wood-panelling and painted ceilings to the old fashioned French and Alsatian dishes on the menu. The dining room was cosy and warm. We shared a tarte à l'oignon as entrée and it was creamy, had bacon (which pleased my carnivorous boyfriend) and was served with a small green salad. A... More

We spent a week in Obernai and this was our favourite evening meal by far. Our landlord recommended this restaurant as a family run operation offering great value for traditional food away from the more expensive tourist traps. He was right, the night we visited our fellow diners were mostly locals. It is a warm intimate space, service is gracious... More

Yesterday by accident arrived in the agnau d'or. It was really an excellent experience. The service was very friendly and the food was absolutely magnificent. Better than I had in many M-starres restaurants. Try the Lotte! The Prices Very reasonable.
