Great food and atmosphere- the steaks here are always cooked to perfection and the pizzas are also good - tasty, thin crust.

Once renowned for its great steak ( once upon a time you could even cook it yourself) this place has fallen into mediocrity. Its Mother's Day and they run out of steak! Are they serious, yes no steak. Something they ask you pay close to $40 for. Yep maybe busy but I have seen it busier. Poor. To make matters... More

A great place to have a large family outing. Plenty of room for children and prams. Prompt service and a quiet atmosphere. Very helpful staff. Will visit again.

Over the past years I have eaten at the Blue Gum bistro within the Blue Gum Hotel at Waitara in Sydney’s Upper North Shore – one of the area’s iconic drinking spots. It used to be quite good but I have found on my last 2 visits over this year the food quality to have gone off, it is not... More

Generic menu fails to excite. Expect to pay just under $40 for a decent steak. What happened to reasonably priced pub food. Meals are filling at least. Would be ok for a get together with bland food preferences. Drinks not cheap either.

We love the BGH and have been regulars for the past nine years. However that could well change after last nights visit with the family. We ordered a kids pizza and two of the special a salmon dish with potatoes and a dukkha yogurt. Firstly the kids meals here are generally good the pizza was burnt and pretty sad looking... More

I've eaten here perhaps 100 times in the last 30 years and it has improved markedly in that time. It was once a "blood and guts" pub for Bikies. At lunch yesterday the Bistro was quite empty (less than 20% of capacity) but the food was certainly not up to the Pub's usual standard. The steak was overcooked and the... More

After a few drink with friends on Friday night three of us stayed on for dinner last Friday night. We enjoyed shared meals of chicken wings, pork spring rolls and beer battered chips, all delicious, and a perfect accompaniment to a nice bottle of Zilzie Pino Grigio wine. Located a two minute walk from Waitara station, and also with limited... More

They have the best steaks around the area. It's typically set up as a Aussie pub. You have to order at the register and then you get a buzzer. The kitchen is fast, on Friday and Saturday night it's really busy so get in early otherwise you'll have to wait longer than normal. I would highly recommend this place!

There is now a surcharge on all payments. Over the last few years this place has slowly changed from the place you want to go with your mates, to the place you dread. The meals are slowly going up in price and down in size. There is only one pool table and my beer was flat. I hope they go... More
