Stopped in on a Thursday evening and was amazed. The service was excellent. Great decor and food was delicious. Potato skins were a great appetizer. Had the wet beef burrito and it was very good. I did not care for the black olives on it...but I could have told them to hold them. Beer was cold. The could use a little more lighting in the parking area. Definitely dark at night. I will be back on my next trip to the area.More

I have been patronizing this estabishment since for decades. I have seen it gone downhill since the change in ownership. Food is cooked well, but the service is very slow. Plan on spending 2 hours to eat. Terrible management, just WAY under-staffed. Great atmosphere, but...you will leave fed and wish you went to another place.More

Hoppies Tavern is off the beaten path but worth the time and effort once there. I have been coming here long before we moved to Northern Mich. We always seem to go on Friday and always get the fish special. All you can eat cod...for 12-13 bucks. Must be good.....They also have white fish if you prefer. The Mexican food as it comes out of the kitchen looks good but like I said have only had the Friday fish. The beer, bottle, tap and craft is cold. The Margaritias are great. Service is usually attentive and quick. Summer is always much busier than the other 3 seasons. I understand that they have another Hoppies at the Pelston airport but have not been there.More

We stopped for lunch (a family of 5). It’s a bit out of the way, but worth it. It’s definitely family friendly and you won’t leave hungry that’s for sure! The appetizers are kind of “everything tastes better fried”, and here it’s true! The onion...rings were amazing, we also enjoyed the pretzel bites, mini tacos, buffalo fries, chicken tenders, kids buttered noodles, and 20 oz steak. Everything was great and our server kept our drinks filled. Check this place out!More

Hoppies has always been a great place to stop and eat and drink. In the summer months you better get there before 5:00 pm if you want to get a seat. Everything is great and the service is good and so are the prices. Always...a stop or two in northern Michigan.More

My husband & I have stayed on Mullett Lake twice now to fish and we were looking for a good place to eat. There aren't that many places in Indian River to eat in the evening so we decided to try this place. When we...entered we were told we could sit where ever we would like, it was a Wednesday evening around 5pm they weren't very busy. Our server came right over & suggested the drink special golden margarita, which I had, and came back right away with our drink orders & took our food order. Our food was good my husband had the rib platter special which he said the meat was so tender it just fell off the bone. I had the chicken quesadillas, the salsa is homemade that they serve there by the way. There was plenty of parking, the music was low enough so you could have a conversation and it was awesome too because it was older 80's tunes! Our server came back and refilled our drinks and checked on us, she was very pleasant. I would come here again .More

A friend and I met in Pellston and car pooled to Hoppies in search of craft beer and good food. We weren't disappointed. Great selection of craft beer that was ice cold and attentive server "Tim" and when the time was right we ordered the...Friday Fish special which is all you can eat cod. We also ordered waffle fries and coleslaw. Too much food to even think about all you can eat unless you just ate the cod which was some of the best cod I have ever had between here and Alaska. Yummo! It is out of the way but a must stop when in Norther Michigan.More
