Very close to the main square and the Duomo, but somewhat tucked away. We had a very quiet, relaxing lunch. The service was excellent. The food was delightful - perhaps one of the best meals we've had in Italy. Reasonable prices and great menu. I had the wild boar with olives - delicious!

If you like seafood, this is the place to visit while in Volterra. An amazing meal! We called ahead and made a reservation for 17 people. We asked for a family-style meal for $30/person including wine. Holy moly, chef Paolo blew our minds!! Honestly, I lost count of the courses, but everything with perfectly prepared. The flavors were amazing and... More

Returned to Volterra for a lovely day, and stopped for lunch here. Although we are "tourists" we like to find places where "locals" eat. This restaurant did not disappoint. The pasta was homemade (and perfectly cooked). The Sienese Ragu was slow cooked and brimming with flavor. My wife's pasta was topped with a leek, tomato and cavalo nero Ragu which... More

If you're looking for real Italian food in a real Italian place and want to dodge the tourist traps, go here. Relatively inexpensive, high-quality dishes with good variety on the menu and wines to match. Local, atmospheric ambiance. Very friendly and flexible staff who went out of their way to accomodate a relatively demanding group like ours (7 adults, 3... More

Had a very pleasant dinner there. Service was very good too. As has been written before, the pigeon was exquisite, the white truffle pasta so&so, in spite of the generous portion of truffle slices. Accompanying wine was good, we also received complimentary bruschette while waiting for the pigeon

We spent a day in Volterra and found this lovely restaurant around lunch time and managed to get a table. Food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. Lots of locals were eating there so we felt we would not be disappointed and we weren't. Food was freshly cooked and delicious. Service was very efficient as well. Find it... More

Excellent meal! What a wonderful town and this restaurant was a great find! Found it through Rick Steves' recommendations, can't go wrong.

We stumbled upon this place tucked away behind the Plazzo Dei Priori. The service was incredibly efficient and the food was very good. The pasta was some of the best that I have ever had (Mussel and Clam spaghetti) and was absolutely brimming with shellfish - I even had to share some! Very good value for the quality of the... More

Volterra is a gem in the Tuscan countryside and this restaurant just added to the sparkle. Excellent in every way - good service, lovely food and all at a reasonable price. And tucked away off the main streets it was a quiet place to recharge the batteries before exploring even more of the town.

The place was really buy on the 2nd of June national holiday. And it's near the Priority square where the palio was being readied. The service was a bit brusque but efficient. Mixed salumi appetizer was excellent. Unfortunately neither of the pasta dishes we chose were good - the ravioli were kind of weird and the pasta with a white... More
