5th time I've been here on my 3rd visit to Volterra and it won't be my last. One of my favourite restaurants of all time.

The first night in Volterra we ended in this restaurant which looked cozy. The waiters were very kind and the place was charming. The food was good, but nothing special. A little expensive compared to the quality.

We went to Il Pozzo Degli Etruschi based on the recommendation of a friend of ours (always the best way to find good restaurants). The steaks they serve are amazing, especially the steak with herbs and local bacon. The caprese salad is quite mediocre, especially the presentation. A recommendation to the chef would be to keep it simple. No garnish... More

In a country with phenomenal places to eat, this was average. While we understand that we do not speak Italian, this was also the ONLY restaurant (or hotel, B&B, shop, etc.) where they refused to speak English. What made that circumstance worse was the servers across the street continually doing their best to try to speak with their English speaking... More

Was there bevause of the good reviews … bad exprience! The wine was sour, the food really tasteless. Aditionally we had a hair in the ravioli. The seating is tiny and uncomfortable… and quite dirty except of the tables. overall - avoid.

Decent food, decent wine. Prices were a little higher than nearby restaurants. We had an average experience, but based on the reviews were expecting more. Not or beat meal in Volterra

Very good food, excellent service and a nice outdoor area. This is a great place (and there are many) in Volterra. It has a quaint feel, and is rustic with a touch of modern. The food is delicious, and they have a nice selection of wine. We will return! (we were actually there in July of 2014)

This is good honest local fare and clearly a local rather than tourist haunt. The well can be viewed through a perspex inset into the floor. Somewhat chaotic service on the evening we visited but good value for money.

Super place. Very friendly, great food simply cooked and presented with a limited wine list of fab wines. We all loved our food from the starters to dessert. Don't go there if you're in a hurry, go to enjoy the food and savour your time eating your meal you will not be disappointed.
