Ate here two nights. Both times food was excellent, wine good and service courteous. Have the mixed starter or the bruschetta both exceptional starters. The Seafood Mista was fab, deep fried calamari, shrimp and veg in a tempura batter.. Gnocchi good too! Don't pay a lot for wine the house white which you can buy by the 1/2 litre is... More

Only went once due to the bad service which is a shame because the pizza was actually really good! We waited a long time for drinks and to place and order. Once we had finished our meal the waitress stood talking watching us before telling someone else to clear our table. No dessert/coffee offer and couldn't even get the bill... More

We visited for lunch and there have been changes since our last visit, all good. The "enclosed" outside area has now gone and replaced with large umbrellas. Service good until you want the bill and then it becomes slow. Food very good and I can recommend the grigliate mista pesche. Good place to people watch. Note they don't do pizza... More

Ham and mozzarella for starter. We were a bit hungry so took a starter that was tasty. Then small lobsters and big shrimps on fresh vegetables. Gewürztraminer chilled. 80 euros. Everybody wanted to go there.

We came here following previous Trip Advisor reviews. We got a lovely table watching everyone walking by. We ordered steak and pomme frittes for one son, the steak arrived and by the time his pomme frittes arrived, he had eaten his steak. Our seafood and prawn pasta arrived which was delicious but my poor younger son waited and waited for... More

We always eat here at least once in Viareggio because we love their local staples like cacciucco (seafood stew) and spaghetti alle vongole/ allo scoglio. The service can be patchy and the place is usually pretty crowded (reserve!!), but their recent remodeling has improved the ambiance and made waiting a little more pleasant!

We ate in many places in Italy and nowhere could we find a good seafood place. Sa Playa is exactly what we were looking for; variety of seafood dishes, huge portions at reasonable prices, everything is fresh and tasty, definitely the best restaurant in Viareggio.
