The food is very good and the wines' proposal is wonderful. The quality is very very high and the staff are very capable to suggest you the right combination of food and wine, based on your wishes. The "Passata di ceci" is very delicious and the cheeses dish is superb.

We went in first night as we arrived late, it was around midnight and still served food. Price was fine and food was nice as well. Was happy with my visit.

Hidden on the corner by the canal, L'assassinio is the perfect place to meet, eat and while away time amongst friends. The taverna has an excellent select of local and Italian wines. The menu is good with some interesting and delicious food! Strongly recommended are the cheese with truffles and the apples and Gorgonzola!

First wine bar on the main street just off the river. Serves unusual salads and taster dishes which are well worth a try. We had the Autumn Menu which gave us a starter, main course and dessert for 15 euros. Delicious! Lots to eat though.

I had to think long and hard about this place. If I could - I'd give it 3.5. On the plus side, the wine list is excellent and the owner is a very amicable and friendly chap. The place has a laid-back vibe and was very relaxing - with its smooth-jazz soundtrack. It’s just the food on our first visit... More

Highly recommend for a relaxing night on the patio. Food is delicious and staff gracious. Wine was in point. All around great, but in Italy, the choices are too good to throw 5 stars around to everyone.

If you find yourself in Viareggio, don't miss this gem of a winebar. Located at the end of the strip, this winebar is super-charming, quite hip for a beach resort, and full of locals. Excellent wine and knowedgeable staff. If you're in Viareggio, for some reason, make sure to get a Bottle of wine at L'assassino!

We went there by chance not knowing what to expect, and were nicely surprised. The atmosphere is all boat related, with a bar area, a restaurant area and a small intimate ballroom where we were placed. The menu is atypical : many large toasted bread topped with all kinds of hams, sausages and cheese, vegetable, seeds, fruits and nuts salads,... More

This is not a typical Italian (pasta) place. They serve small tasty plates (think tapas). We both ordered a different 3 plate tasting menu, giving us 6 plates to try. All were interesting & flavorful. We also ordered dessert, which was unremarkable. Outside seating looked noisy and a bit chaotic, so we chose the quiet of downstairs, the ambiance of... More
