Historic, quaint, nestled in an alley in the historic medieval downtown of Tropea (Calabria), this is one of several pizzarias in Tropea where anything anyone orders on the menu has to be good. It's ITALY! And this New York gal with ancestral roots in Naples and Calabria, thoroughly enjoyed the experience on a week's stay in July, 2016. In the... More

A classic, old family restaurant, which fills the nearby street every night...and for good reason - their pizza's are unbelievable! Fresh, crusty bases with loads of toppings, and a very interesting range to choose from...and all at very reasonable prices. The only downside - for the tourist that is - is that they are VERY popular...so try and book if... More

Amazing the amount of people queueing for a table till late in the evening. The wood pizza oven is a real old one, huge size, and pizza is nothing like napoletana pizza, it's just a tasty and delicious calabrian pizza style, cooked in trays and simply enjoyable. Enzo the guy who takes care of filling in the empty tables is... More

Don't even try to get a table if you are not the nephew or the son of someone they know. You'll wait for hours to see people getting a table before you, just because they have a local accent! Really not welcoming place. Shame on them.

I had the mista, I sat inside because this is a busy place and outdoor tables were full. Pizza was pretty good but I like my crust a little thinner. Toppings were delicious. Owner and staff checked in frequently and were friendly.

Once again stumbled across this place by accident. It was busy and people seemed to be enjoying themselves and were welcomed by friendly staff. We tried the anti pasta of local produce which was divine. The local pasta with the hot spicy sauce was also very tasty. The waiter also recommend an excellent local white wine which was good drinking.... More

We were told by locals that this was the best pizza in town and we were not dissapointed. This little gem is always busy and after 9pm expect a short wait. Pizza's are really well prices around 4-5 Euros and house wine about 4 Euros for half a litre. Friendly service and great tasting pizza's.

I was referred to this place by an American who lives in Calabria. It is high quality, fresh and well prepared and an excellent value. It gets very crowded for at peak times and I believe it is only open for dinner. In a town filled with tourist restaurants, this is a great little find.

Polpo app was cold, and not edible. Pizza was horrible. Service was horrible. This place is just the worst.....If you want a cheap meal, hit Burger King, do your self a favor. This place is a waist of calories.....

During my holiday in Tropea, I went twice to Vecchio Forno: the first time I had a foccacia which was good. The second time I took a pizza (alla rucola), which was sublime!! Best pizza I ate in Tropea (during my two week stay). Surprizingly crusty, a bit thicker than what I am used to, but so yummy!! The place... More
