I would just say that the restaurant is located in the center of the city. So good position. I took pizza with Wurstel and pepperoni (tasty). They have wood oven. I suggest going there!

We stopped by here quite early in the evening, at around 8:15 pm. It was quite empty. But we could drop in without a reservation and had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. I had my sights on sampling a pizza topped with locally famous 'nduja spicy sausage. It did not disappoint! It seems to be a favourite with Italians as the... More

Go here! Pizza and pasta only, but the atmosphere is great. Lines of Italians waiting, families, people that greet each other - you really feel like a local. Not many toeriste here (none when we had dinner) which is perfect!

We ate here 7 years ago after meeting the manager by chance & we were so pleased to see it was still there, it's had a bit of a facelift & the menu is more varied but it's still the best place in tropea for pizza, in fact it may be the best place in Italy for pizza. I'd love... More

Italy and Pizza go together like pasta and sauce. But unfortunately not every pizzeria is authentic nor worth the time or money. BUT if you're in Tropea on the Costa Degli Dei (Coast of the Gods), this is where you want yo have a pizza. The Capriciossa is our favourite. Hand made, Wood Fired and delicious. You come back again!... More

This is one of the best restaurants I have eaten at in all of Italy. The food is amazing. I ate here 3 times and it never disappointed. Their fish (swordfish and tuna) were to die for, and their pasta and pizza were great as well. This is true Calabrian food, and the food combined with the excellent service warm... More

We had tagliati beef and a swordfish dish, side dishes with the house red. Both main dishes were well cooked tasty and well presented with good portions - something that's difficult to gauge off the tourist menus in the rest of this town. For €5 the house red was fine. We would put on the basis of one meal at... More

With the increase of tourism in recent years Tropea is always risky for a good meal. Lot's of new restaurants have opened in the old town, and most of them are low quality. We tried Porta Nova due to the Certificate of Excellence 2013 they display at the entrance, but were disappointed that it was just another mediocre place. I... More

On our first night we took a stroll into Tropea and found this restaurant and instantly felt very welcomed by the owners who were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent especially the Porta Nova pizza which is highly recommended ; the whole evening was delightful - so much so that we went back another three times. To finish... More
