The menu is small, but be sure to order the Panigacci with traditional meats and cheese. Ah, the cheese! And ask for some house-made pastoral. Best ever. They start at 19.00, but go quite late. We ate early, but I can imagine the place quite lively later. the staff was incredible, welcoming, and full of knowledge. A must-do in Sestri.

This is just a great experience with the right Osteria atmosphere and charming location. Coca Cola is served in 2 liter bottles and wine is almost ad libitum. Food is what they have - but who can argue against 64 EUR for 3 adults and 3 kids - all happy and satisfied!

At this restaurant, they only offered a set menu which is unique but not our preference but we gave it a try!. The service was very nice, the atmosphere was nice but overall, the food was disappointing. The set menu included Testaroli (flat pasta noodles) & Panigacci (round "flat bread") with three different sauces. The first white sauce was disappointing... More

we stopped at IL POLPINO after our drive to Sestri Levante for the weekend after looking for something on tripadvisor. We were expecting to eat fish, given the name, but we had Testaroli & Panigacci instead, which is a typical local plate. The place is really cute and the staff is super friendly and welcoming. They explained the dishes and... More

Ottimi i panigacci e testaroli. Servizio molto buono. Un po' indecisa sul pesto ma forse perché sono abituata a quello super concentrato fatto in casa. Definitely worth eating here, especially if you'd like to try something different that is also very tasty, unique and genuine. The panigacci and testaroli are very good. Service is also good. A little undecided about... More

I ate here with my husband and my parents during a 3 week trip throughout Italy. This was one of the most unique meals that we had! We read about this place in the Globe and Mail newspaper and are so glad that we found it. It is small and cozy inside. The food was delicious and so filling! We... More

The service was excellent, they had a lot of dishes of the day which they were able to explain in English. They spotted that we were really hot and moved us into the air conditioned restaurant from the covered terrace. We picked off that menu, expecting the food to be top notch. I love spaghetti with clams so was delighted... More

I cannot remember the last time I had so much fun. The food was strange. A sort of pancake with new stuff on top each time. We drank wine from milk glasses. After the meal we got wine from a can.

Fun good service and strange food (ancient ligurian recipes)... Why only two stars? A mistake? More

We have been travelling and eating worldwide and all over Italy and this restaurant is probably the worst we ever had. Even after living years in Italy we never had the same bad experience. First came a spoonful of an overcooked thick pasta with white cheese, like glue. After this a second spoonful of the same pasta but with a... More
