Nice location as part of good roadside hotel. Lovely cheese platter, but otherwise flavorless pasta and meat main dishes, and uninspiring service (language barrier?). Red wines are not great, but the region is essentially all whites, so I understandable. Disappointing experience.

This restaurant was recommended by close friends and the experience met completely the high expectation. We choosed to eat fish dishes and drink local wine. Everything was really testy, the service impeccable and the price very reasonable. On top of excellent food and drinks we particularly enjoyed the great sea view as the Sestri Levante lights illuminate the harbor into... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. The ravioli and the shrimp cocktail starters were excellent as were the pork and the beef mains and the service was very attentive without being overly fussy. Also the view is impressive! Given the location next to the hotel we found that diners were mainly hotel residents which meant the atmosphere was a little... More

The restaurant's name mirrors the look of the building. Never mind. The service was mind boggling cordial and humble! That is a combination not easy to be achieved! The menu is limited but offers an interesting way of composing and ordering your own set menu in sequence and size you want. The wine list is not extensive with probably less... More

As mentioned in our parallel review for the Hotel Relais San Rocco, our experience at Kontiki was amazing: gorgeous views (ask for a table in the front right corner, you can see Portofino in the background!); the tasting menu was reasonably priced, fresh, and tasty. The owner and staff were exceptional--it was a lively exchange between broken Italian & broken... More

After a lovely 10min drive up one of italy's most twisted SS roads the hotel/restaurant sign is hard to miss. On arrival (April '11) the outside wasn't all that inviting but don't let that put you off. Once you find the entrance, inside is very welcoming especially the owner/host. The food was good on the night we were there but... More

Small dining room perched atop the hillside 2000 feet over sea level with a view of the two bays and towns: Sestri Levante to the right and Riva Trigoso to the left. The dusk view alone is worth the price! The food is strictly Ligurian fare, cleanly done from down to earth ingredients and traditional recipes. Wines are unknown local... More

If you are not a picky eater then give this place a try. The menu is limited to serve what is fresh and available. We ate here both nights of our stay in the area as we felt welcomed, thought the staff was friendly and meal a nice value. The wine list had great local wines and was reasonalby priced.... More

Took a taxi up to the Kontiki and although the views were wonderful not worth the trip. Welcome very professional and well served throughout. However although the starters were good but a main course of tuna in sesame seeds was inedible, the fish was not cooked and was quite unpleasant. in fairness they offered a replacement immediately and also a... When we arrived at the Kontiki we were led to the patio area where we had some wine and hors d'oeuvres. It was a great spot for socializing and admiring the wonderful view of Sestri Levante. Upon entering the restaurant we noticed the beautiful Italian modern furniture that was a perfect compliment to the spectacular view. The attention to detail... More
