Great atmosphere and excellent gourmet food. It was a two man show and everything was to the T. I would go back again in a heartbeat. We had pasta, monkfish, foi gras, prosciutto and much more.

We had the set menu and every course was superb. There was excellent seafood and pasta but the rabbit dish we had was exceptional. The dessert was inspired as well. If you are in Reggio definitely make time to eat in this excellent restaurant, we will return soon.

A Mangiare was a pleasant short walk from where we were staying during our two nights in Reggio Emilia. We so enjoyed the whole experience of eating there on our first night, that we booked in for the second. The restaurant offers imaginative, exciting dishes & wonderful service. Among the memorable dishes enjoyed were cheese mousse with pear, potato ravioli... More

True Love Italian dining experience. Don't be in a hurray, everything is made to order. First course was Parma Reggiano proscuitto. This was aged 27 days, and so far the best I have ever tasted. Second course was the cod stuffed ravioli with a light white sauce with a drizzle of pesto oil. Both were absolutely amazing. Here please don't... More

We ordered the set menu and we're all very disappointed. Tastes were random and the beef ragout tasted like tinned beef or cat food and as 4 of us confirmed that it was not just a personal opinion. All Courses were not tasty and we left most of it. The only nice thing was the ice cream. We had high... More

Dear Ms Reissesogern, We are sorry to learn that you have not liked your experience with us. Nevertheless we think it right to make some clarifications in front of your harsh notes. First, please note that our menu does not cover dishes based on “ragù”. The dish you chose was potato dumplings and walnuts with a sauce of stewed Ganassini... More

Long, intense working day before, with 38º heat and no airco in the meeting room. I needed a place to rest and take care of myself. And I found it: Chez A mangiare traditional Emilia dishes are revisited without becoming something else, actually bringing them to the next level. Also a good choice of wines by the glass which allowed... More

One of the very capable desk managers at the Hotel Posta recommended A Mangiare for our first evening in town. We were not disappointed! A pleasant walk from Hotel Posta brought us to our destination. Upon arrival, we noticed that it was largely a local crowd which is always a good sign. We were warmly greated and quickly seated. Albeit in the heart of meat-food tradition the place, stylish, offers interesting seafood plates. A good selection of wines, very well balanced among classics and labels linked to the territory is provided with moderate charges on price. Staff is very professional and kind. Good value for money.

Description
The restaurant "A Mangiare" is a historical one, located in an art-nouveau-style building at the ancient gates of the town. The cuisine is inspired by tradition but does not fail to deliver more creative proposals, paying attention to the seasonality of products, thanks to the chef and owner Olatz Agoues. Donati Donatella, professional sommmelier and owner of the restaurant, takes care of the wine list, which is comprehensive and with highly-selected labels. Among the services offered, it is possible to park in front of the restaurant and to pay by credit card (except Diners cards). The restaurant is animal friendly as long as the pet belongs to a small breed. The restaurant "A Mangiare" is directly involved in the events promoted by the city administration of Reggio Emilia. As a matter of fact it takes part to the exhibition "European Photography"as an exhibitor, and it is also part of the "GuSTaRe": the association that makes the most of local restaurants and products. We are also member of the project "City of the hundred languages", where a particular attention is paid to the reception of children with a special menu and facilities for them.
