After several nights of eating about Positano, we had our last night at Il Capitano. Yes, as per all the reviews, the views are fabulous, but there's more to a great night than that. The service was seriously slow where we eventually had to grab someone to get their attention (as did other patrons). The food was average including the... More

We chanced upon this restaurant as we were looking for another recommended one close by. The view from the balcony was too good to miss and we were very lucky to get a table right on the edge. The views were stunning, the food excellent and the service perfect. The presentation was lovely, the tuna delicious, the steak was the... More

In our one and only night in Positano we decided not to eat in the crowded city center and stayed on the hills where we found this nice restaurant with a beautiful terrace. The waiters were friendly and fast and we ordered octopus carpaccio and caprese bufala for starters. Then we had two pizzas - they actually were 'bianca' -... More

We loved the meals we had here -- I thought the seafood risotto and the fish carpaccio were both delicious. The wine was excellent and the melon sorbetto really magnificent. If you want to sit right at the edge of the balcony for unobstructed views, you must book ahead (in July) but we were delighted with our view even though... More

It is slightly more expensive than it needs to be. However, they are gracious hosts and the food is good quality. Positano's main cuisine is seafood, and so it is always a pleasure to go to Il Capitano for a rack of lamb for a change. Views are magic.

Fantastic restaurant that was attached to our hotel (Montemare). The view was beautiful and the pizzas were great.

We spent a week in Positano and we enjoyed the view at sunset here the most out of any of the other places at which we ate. The food was very good... not the best we had during this Italian trip, but very good. At least during high season, you're advised to book a table, particularly if you want to... More

After a long trek up from the Positano beaches, you'll find this restaurant which for all intents purposes, will feed you at standard prices with decent quality. We liked the view very much and we liked the life story told in the menu about how the founder. We were here really for a snack, so we shared a pizza and... More

We were staying at the Hotel Montemare adjacent to the restaurant and were advised to book a table by the hotel reception staff which was a good tip as this place gets pretty busy. We were given a table overlooking the sea and town below with absolutely amazing views. Although there are places in town that have good views too,... More
