From the moment you arrive at La Tagliata, the views of this part of the Amalfi Coast looking over Positano really are breathtaking...it makes the bus ride up the hill completely worth it, the food and wine to follow will not disappoint either. The atmosphere...of the restaurant is relaxed and welcoming, with thanks to the attentive service of staff. An Italian family run the farm & restaurant which adds to the authentic cuisine. Most dishes are cooked with home grown seasonal ingredients, one dish called 'Mama's Pasta' was a particular favourite of mine. You pay a flat rate for your meal which includes a different variety of starters, mains, desserts and wines, potentially some limoncello also. All were delicious. For a €2 bus ticket from Positano, it really is a must!More

This place was great. The view is outstanding so beautiful, make sure you are hungry when you get here cause you get Loads of food! It's like tapas, they just keep brining plates. Service was great really nice guy. They make there own wine too....The only thing we didn't enjoy was the desert, it was not was good as the other courses. This place even offers a free shuttle pick up and drop off from hotels and positano. Definately worth the trip. Lovely atmosphere, food and service.More

We had a dinner here after reading all the numerous positive reviews during our first evening in Positano. Really like the concept, the location is beautiful (pity it was already dark and we couldn't fully enjoy the view) and the guys working there are very...friendly. There was A LOT of food, like A LOT. Don't come here if you're not hungry - as there're numerous appetizers (very nice), 4 kinds of pasta, meat and dessert. And wine. The food was good (I wouldn't say exceptional but definitely good). The only thing that I would suggest to improve is the speed of service - meaning it was way too fast - not leaving time to enjoy everything to the maximum. Otherwise - definitely recommended for a dinner!More

We were really excited to go after reading all the positive reviews - farm to table, family run, menu differs based on what’s fresh etc. This is not at all what we experienced. The service was friendly but incredibly rushed. It felt like we were...being hurried along in a school cafeteria or on a large bus tour. The food was the worst we had on our trip, and there was way too much of it. The appetizers were ok (but hard to go wrong with ham, cheese, veggies), the four pasta dishes were edible, the random selection of meat plate was overcooked and looked like random bits of meat from every animal, the dessert was terrible (cold, stale). Focus on fewer things and make them delicious. I wonder if this place has always felt like a tourist trap or if somewhere along the way is became a victim of its own success. I couldn’t wait to leave, and I don’t understand all the rave reviews. Positano has amazing food for the same price, or cheaper. Don’t bother going here.More

Came here as a couple on a Thursday night and opted for the complimentary shuttle service (great touch). Picked us up at 7:20 and we arrived to the restaurant just gone 7:30ish. We were given 2 bottles of their own wine - 1 red and...1 white. First came a plate of appetisers - aubergine, meats, cheese, grilled vegetables. Then a pasta dish with 4 types included (our favourite). After we would have normally received the meat dish but as my partner is vegetarian we both opted for that and was served a plate of olive infused cheeses, vegetables and home made chips. Just when we thought we couldn’t fit anymore, then came out the Limoncello and desert! An almond cake, pistachio profiterole and fruit cake! All very yummy and such good value for money at €45 each! Shuttle back down to Positano left at around 9:30pm so we were there for just under 2 hours in all. Highly recommend! Didn’t feel cheated at all as I have done in some other local Positano restaurants!More

With over 4000 positive reviews we decided to give La Tagliata a try on our final night in Positano. The restaurant offers a complimentary shuttle service that picked us up from our hotel in Positano. Upon arrival we were greeted by our host who briefed...us on the family nature of the business and that the produce comes from their farm. To begin with we were served with local wines. A bottle of red and white - both were superb. For the first course an array of vegetables, meats and cheeses were served to us. These were all beautifully seasoned and prepared. The next course comprised of a selection of pasta. I particularly enjoyed the ravioli and the other tomato based pasta. We primarily came to this restaurant for the meat course because my partner felt that he had been swindled by the prices in Positano and this course did not disappoint us. From chicken to lamb, to rabbit to beef - all meats were seasoned to perfection, tender and delicious. Next we were presented with an array of traditional desserts. A rich dark chocolate cake, a rum profiterole, a pistachio profiterole and the Nonna cake. All of these were delicious but I highly recommend that you save room for the Nonna cake and pistachio profiterole!! The service was attentive and the staff made us feel welcome and part of the family. The meal was a very modest price - and not just in Positano terms. We wish we had come here twice! Thank you La Tagliata! A beautiful grand finale to our last night in Positano.More

Really excellent restaurant clinging to steep hillside way above Positano . Huge quantities of delicious locally grown / produced food , cooked by the family & served by the extended family . We walked up to it from Positano - an hour of steep steps...but an excellent way of giving you an appetite for the vast amounts of good served .More

A real experience! Unbelievable view with excellent food, wine & service. Make sure to go hungry as the meat sweats will be on after a large feed! Would definitely recommend. Easy to access too as shuttle bus runs regularly all around positano. Will be sure...to go again if I’m in PositanoMore
