Wow amazing! So much food and when you think that’s it more comes out. Haven’t eaten food as good as this since my nonna was alive. Highly recommend this place, just don’t eat the whole day before going there.

This place is a sensation! A must in Positano if you want to have something special! Once you arrive with their free shuttle offered from Positano, you are surprised by the amazing view! But even more! This real family business is serving you during the...evening like a family member! The food is very authentic! The personal is extremely friendly and attentive! The guests are mixed, international and all very pleased , well rather impressed and excited. The most amazing thing is that there is a kind of relaxed atmosphere I have never ever experienced in a restaurant which has quite some guests on three floors. Many thanks to Stefanie Sonnentag who highly recommended this place!More

Great food. Great view. Service was outstanding. Tucked on the side of the mountain. We had the never ending food display. For $50E we ate until we couldn’t walk anymore. Just outside of Positano this place is worth the trip.

There’s no doubting the view is spectacular. But everything/anything else?! We booked months in advance to secure a table at the window but were seated on top of the kitchen. The shuttle arrived 35 minutes late meaning we missed sunset (the whole point of going!),...the staff were rude, three plates of food down without explaining what they were. All OK as we laughed it off as a funny authentic Italian experience but when the main course came out we were done. The meat was horribly overcooked, so tough we could not eat any of it. To top it off, the shuttle didn’t take us back to where it picked us up so we had to walk half an hour back to our accommodation.More

Had such high expectations / fond memories of this restaurant from our stay in Positano 12 years ago. At that time it seemed authentic, homemade, a unique concept and a great value. The views were fantastic! At that time a private car picked us up...from our Positano hotel and dropped us off. Each table was driven separately, it felt very exclusive and tremendous value add. I am not sure if we just had too much wine previously, tastes evolved or the place is just 100% different now than it was but this experience was the exact opposite. When I mentioned a desire to book here with my hotel the front desk women seemed to make a face which I should have recognized but I overlooked it at the time. The wait staff was more rude/crude than the friendly "family" welcoming us into their home than I remember. Everything seemed so fake / rehearsed catering to the American tourist crowd. Due to a wedding party booking the main restaurant we were all seated in a small side room with zero views. The place overall has expanded greatly from our first visit but the added spaces lack the views and ambience of the main area (only area previously) Quite a few people around the room complained about lack of any view they were likely promised/expecting. Some of the pasta dishes were very good but the majority of the food served was average buffet quality as they are cooking everything in mass quantities. The meat in the main course platter is of very low quality. I am a big meat eater and did not like the majority of the meat platter. Desserts seemed store bought not homemade. Everything was quantity over quality to the extreme! They serve many courses and large family style portions of each course. The amount of food served is over the top, which could be seen as a good thing or very wasteful as it was uncommon / non-existent to see a course finished around the room. We had our young daughter with us and were charged the full 50 euro pp for her as well which I did not think was fair. She eat very little, drink only water and our table of 3 received the same amount of food as the tables of 2. I did not complain about this but paid by credit card and did not leave a tip despite the rather rude waitstaff constant plead for cash payment and behavior encouraging/expecting tips from everyone in the room. Maybe 12 years ago I would not have been wise enough to see through that but it totally came across as unprofessional this time. Unlike our private car experience 12 years prior, now a large number of diners are combined in a shuttle van both coming and going and felt more like cattle herding with most diners finishing their meal and only realizing after they left the restaurant that they would need to wait outside for the other diners to also finish before the shuttle came to pick everyone up again. I would still rate it as a good value for the amount of food, free wine, shot of lemoncello and the included shuttle but other than that have nothing positive to say about our 2022 experience. Sadly this place seems to have become a tourist trap and I would recommend you avoid! It is possible the fact there was a wedding party taking up the main restaurant just made the experience completely different but if so they should have not taken reservations or offered a discount that evening. Of the approx. 20 people in our shuttle about 6 were glowingly happy and 14 visibly frustrated so was without question a love it or hate it type dining experience with no in between.More

we made reservations months in advance,, our last night in Positano with 18 people. We called that morning to confirm their shuttle to pick us up,, one shuttle came on time and only had room for 4 of 18 and picked the four of us...up while the others were told another shuttle was just behind,, never came until 2+ hours later. The four girls that were picked up first waited at the restaurant and were treated so poorly they were begging to leave. They left over an hour later as were were continuously told a shuttle was coming. Then the shuttle driver charged the 4 girls 40 euro to return them to our hotel. What a joke.. So poorly mismanaged.. All on our last dinner in positano..More

This was an absolute highlight of our Italy trip. Food was excellent and the hosts were amazing! We went here for a cooking course but got a full day of entertainment. Would highly recommend. N.B if you do book (which you should!) pre book a...taxi, the buses are not reliable and you won’t get a taxi on the day. The hosts were kind enough to pick us up and book us a taxi home but the walk up the hill was not ideal and will take you much longer than 45 minutes - you’ve been warned!More

Well worth the visit for the view alone. The meal is family style and they bring out huge volumes of food, and quite quickly. Food was great until the meats arrived. Too much and not the best quality. However, I would still say that it...is worth the visit because the views were spectacular and it was a different experience than the usual sit down restaurant. I could look past the meats because we were already stuffed by the second course.More

This place is the first restaurant I would recommend someone try when visiting Positano. One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever been part of. For €50 per head. The value for money is exceptional. The restaurant will arrange travel for you, it has live...entertainment and the food and service is second to none. Me and my partner throughly enjoyed ourselves.More

Overall a great experience. We were picked up at our hotel by their complimentary shuttle bus and taken to the restaurant with many others. The view and setting are spectacular. The various dishes were presented and were delicious home cooking country style food. The house...wine was included which was fine. 50 Euros per person plus tip was reasonable.More

The restaurant is located high up the mountain. Taking the shuttle bus is required. Although the food was good and the views were out of this world, the shuttle bus gave us many problems on the day of my visit. The shuttle service had major...issues!!!! It was EXTREMELY delayed!!! When I arrived at my designated pick up spot, there was already a group of people waiting there. Some of them had been waiting for almost 75 minutes!!! My pick up time was 7:05 pm and just when I was about to leave, the bus arrived at 7:30pm. At the end of our dinner, we were rushed off by the waiter saying that the shuttle bus was soon to leave. Not wanting to miss the shuttle after our earlier ordeal we stuffed our mouths with the desserts, payed and quickly made our way to the exit. Only to found out that.... there was no shuttle!!!! So, there we were. Again with a big group of people. All of us rushed out with the same excuse. Again....waiting for I don't know how long!!! But it was very long!!!! I assume that our group had a very unfortunate experience with the shuttle bus that evening. Because when I shared my experience with the host at my hotel, she mentioned that it was unusual for La Tagliata. I also couldn't remember any reviews mentioning these issues. I would recommend La Tagliata if the shuttle service would be smooth. The view is worth it.More

Probably the best meal of my life. This resteraunt not only provides a meal but a true Italian EXPERINCE. Once you have arrived at the treehouse farm settled in the clouds above the Positano, you are greeted by the incredibly charming family who has owned...the place for years! No need to be overwhelmed by menus, each course is brought out to you depending on what they have at the farm. A true farm to table Italian style. Each course came with various options and each one better then the next. After 5 DELICIOUS courses and numerous bottles of wine I think I was the happiest i’ve ever been. Truly one of the best resteraunt EXPERIENCES i’ve ever had.More
