Perched along the sea over the cliff walk to Fornillo Beach, Lo Guarracino is a splendidly peaceful location to dine and relax. We were there on the last weekend of the season, and the staff was attentive and friendly. After being seated at a cozy table in their garden gallery, we opened a dewy bottle of crisp white wine and gazed out at the stone towers at the water's edge. The waiter brought out a plate of the three available catch of the day fish to help us make our choice. It was served grilled, with a crackling brown skin and tender moist flaky flesh within. My lemon pasta with white and red shrimps benefited from a lightly garlicky buttery sauce made tangy from the shreds of lemon peel. By the time we finished our meal we were completely refreshed and ready for an afternoon of fun in Positano.

This was our favorite place in Positano. We ate here 3 times over our 7 day stay in Positano - once for dinner (with reservations - needed for dinner) and twice when coming back from the beach at Fornillo when they were just opening before we headed back up the hill to our hotel. The lemon pasta was to die for, and we couldn't get enough the mussels. Everything we ate was excellent - and the views are spectacular!

Shout out to the dive master Aldo who told us about this AMAZING restaurant! There are quite a few high end restaurants in Positano but we were told if you want great food for a good price, this was the place to go - and this place did not let us down! This place is in a beautiful location with a gorgeous view - especially around sunset! And the food - everything from the appetizer to the main course to the dessert was on point. The service is also great. I would highly recommend anyone who visits Positano to check out this restaurant. Thank you Lo Guarracino for an awesome culinary experience!

We were told to go to this restaurant by a friend and we’re very disappointed. The restaurant has stunning views and in an absolutely fantastic location. We ordered mixed grilled fish and salad. The plate was very small and the fish was cold. Also we ordered the sale separately however it was served in the same fish plate as just some lettuce leaves. When I told the waiter that the fish was cold his response was really? It’s a shame that we did not have fast lunch as the scenery was beautiful. The bull was huge but the lunch was cold and small.

My daughter and I ate at Lo Guarrancino while visiting Positano on a birthday trip around the Mediterranean—we had asked our hotel concierge to make us a reservation for dinner, and this was her favorite place to recommend. She gave us directions from the water taxi, but we ended up riding into town on the hotel shuttle, which meant we were coming from the opposite direction—up, rather than down. This is relevant because it’s how we learned Google maps does not understand Positano 🤣 On the plus side, we added 40 flights of stairs to our daily step count; one the downside, we ended up 300 feet directly *above* the restaurant. It’s not hard to find—there are signs, or you could ask someone, just don’t rely on your phone 🤣 Once we arrived we were delighted: glorious views, wonderful service, delicious food at reasonable prices. I’ve read comments the food is too pricey; everything in Positano is pricey, but I found the prices here surprisingly low. Everything we ate was so good, and our experience with the wait staff was so fun and friendly, we came back again the next night. I wish I’d gotten our main server’s name—Luigi? I’m not sure. I know he’s a vegetarian, and he made us feel absolutely welcome and at home. The local red wine was delicious, the Positano Spritz, and the pizza and eggplant both were fantastic. Highly recommend this great restaurant slightly off the main drag, away from the crowd.

We have come twice to Lo Guarrancino during our stay in Positano. The atmosphere is more relaxed than on the main promenade in Positano, views of the mediterranean see are great and the food is excellent. Thanks a lot for two nice evenings. Recommended !

Good food and nice views but really shocking service. Dismissive and abrupt. When I went to pay the woman at the counter barely looked at me and never once spoke to me or said thank you. Soured then experience. I’d avoid this place given so many other restaurants in Positano bend over backwards for you.

We came to this restaurant following the advice of our hotel receptionist. It's located along the beautiful pedestrian walk on the cliffs of Positano and it has a mesmerising view above the bay.
Food was delicious and in appropriately sized portions, with tasty desserts and nice wines. Our waiter was polite and professional.
Prices are higher than the Southern Italian average, although not as extortionate as some other places in Positano.
Eventually, it was a lovely dinner and evening.

We had a great dinner here during our time in Positano. We did not have a reservation, but we arrived right when they opened and they were able to seat us. If you want a good view, be sure to make a reservation! We got a half bottle of wine, the focaccia, and we asked the server what else he recommended. We followed his recommendations of the frutti di mare with homemade pasta and the grilled seafood. Everything was delicious and service was kind. Definitely worth a stop while in Positano.

Away from tourist center of Positano, we found this lovely restaurant with a breathtaking view of the sea.
We had a lovely lunch. We noticed that we are the only non-Italian speaking table. Staff are very friendly and they all speak English. My husband and I shared a plate of Vongole to start. For the main, we ordered grilled sea bass (branzino) and side order of sautéed spinach, and a tomato and arugula salad. Everything we ordered are simple but cook to perfection.

My wife and I together with our eldest daughter have been in Positano almost a week and I have eaten here 3 times for lunch. The view is incredible, the staff are very friendly, polite and professional. The food is fairly simple but absolutely delicious and carefully prepared. We have eaten in several restaurants here in Positano but this is our favourite by some distance. Today is our final day in Positano before returning to the UK tomorrow and we have decided to eat our final long lunch at this restaurant…I can highly recommend this place …exceptional 😊👌

The one thing most ristorantes in Positano have going for them is a beautiful sea view. This spot is one of the best. Another thing most ristorantes in Positano have in common is AVERAGE cuisine. This spot is no exception. My three star review is using an Italy wide standard and it is generous at that.
I enjoyed a very nice insalata mista before a subpar calamari e gamberetti fritti and an overpriced bottle of Pinot Grigio. If you have a high standard for the way Italians expertly and lightly flour/bread and then beautifully fry to a pale yellow tender calamari then this is not the place.
Lastly, the Positano price scale is in full effect here. The three items mentioned above and a bottle of acqua naturale = $78

The most beautiful view in a quiet tranquil part of Positano. The food was stunning. Local wine, seafood and meat all served by the wonderful staff who engaged and made our experience so amazing. We were there for 7pm and the place filled up really quickly and the smell from the pizza oven was just incredible.

We stayed in Positano for three nights and ate here twice. The first time didn’t have a reservation but they managed to fit us in at a table in the “second row” of the “big room”, but really every table here has an amazing view. The second night we were seated in the garden section, but we had a front row table. Both nights I had the house special seafood pasta. It has a decent helping of shrimp and calamari mixed in with the pasta and is topped with mussels and clams in the shell. The seafood is so fresh, there is no fishiness to it. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and was tossed in a light sauce tomato flavoured sauced (I believe it was made by sautéing cherry tomatoes in olive oil, but the tomatoes were removed for serving so you could appreciate the flavours of the seafood). The service the second night was not as good as the first as our server forgot our bread and didn’t provide a cooling sleeve for our bottle of wine, but they recognized us from the previous visit and gave us complementary limoncello shots for the mistake and for appreciation of our second visit. It has an amazing ambiance and the staff work very hard. I highly recommend it!

We went there yesterday for dinner - what a great evening we had! Not only the food was tasty - the team offered us an individual and incredible seafood plate. The staff were very friendly and the view was beautiful too - it was lovely to hear the waves!
