Just arrived in Porto Ercole. Getting settled into our rental home (Villa Scylaupe) but decided to go out our first night in town. The restaurant wasn't too busy as the tourist season did not get underway until next week. Having said that, service was provided at a leisurely pace. Had to wait for everything (drinks, bread, meal, ect.) But just relaxing... More

It fully defines the poor restaurant scene of Porto Ercole. As it enjoys a great location and it is often full for unknown reasons...the owner might believe he does not need to offer any decent food or good service. Poor food quality, boring offer, unacceptable service, maybe a simple Pizza Margherita is ok-ish but the remaining 90% of the menu... More

We stayed at the hotel Il Pellicano for our honeymoon and were looking for a rustic, easy going, genuinely italian dinner. We were recommended this restaurant by several different local sources but almost cancelled due to all the negative reviews here. We are very happy we didn't! This restaurant was the only fully crowded one despite low season, and we... More

I was planning to avoid this restaurant after the negative reviews but the owner of the house we were staying at recommended it and I thought well maybe it's worth a try. We went for a late lunch - one of the few places open with a nice outdoor area on the port. The service was informal yet attentive -... More

Possibly the worst restaurant of the Argentario. A dreadful dinner served by sweaty, disorganised and rude personnel. They kept on fighting amongst themselves, screaming their heads off but ignored us repeatedly. The food took 45 minutes to arrive and was rather disgusting . When leaving we expressed our disappointment only to be screamed at and insulted. Never again.

I have rarely seen a more disorganised service. Only one waitress seemed to have the faintest idea of what she was doing. But the others milled about uselessly. Very long waits for the menu, a bottle of water and the eventual arrival of 3 pizzas. God knows how they managed to run out of canned anchovies. Pizzas were fine. Other... More

Excellent dinner made shining an otherwise very grey rainy evening. Nice and charming staff, stunning view of both fortresses and harbor. We had seafood starters and classic "pizza napoletana"....still remember smooth and fullmouth taste! An experience to repeat, a good reason to drive back to Monte Argentario any time of the year.

I don't write bad reviews often - I don't know if I every have - but this restaurant was a miserable experience. The waitstaff was hurried, impatient, and rude, rolling their eyes when we asked for help understanding a dish on the menu. Everyone was in a bad mood apparently. We were seated 10 feet from the bottle disposal bin... More

Don't ever go here! It was a disgrace for Italy and how you make pizza. Even our local turkey pizzaria makes better pizza (). It was burned and stuffed with lots of bad things!
