If you like mushrooms or truffles, go to this restaurant. The homemade pasta is deliciously al dente and the accompaniments are equally as delicious. I had the umbrichelli with truffles and my girlfriend had pasta with porcini and both were delicious. They literally came and shaved fresh black truffles on my pasta, and they didn't skimp! It was truly a... More

La Palomba was referred to us by a local, and it was every bit as good as he said. Great local food, well-prepared, patio also. Definitely go here, at least once!!!

1, we came a sunday evening without reservation, a waiter told us it's full and about to leave. We caught some one who seems to be the owner, he checked and told us to come back in 30min. 2, arrived, table ready, which was great, but service was very slow... we got menu after about 10min., wait, order, wait for... This is an old style restaurant which caters to tourists and locals alike. In fact, there seem to be more locals than tourists-always a good sign. I was particularly impress when the owner took a person interest in our wine selection so that it paired well with our food. The prices were reasonable, the staff attentive and the food very... Local specialities in a relaxed and friendly ambiance. Excellent meat and pasta. Good choice of local wines. We found the bill a bit expensive for what we ate, but the food was very good.

Hotel had recommended this restaurant, we got there early and waited the half hour until it opened. Most open at 7:30. It was attractively done and the food was tasty. I had grilled lamb and my friend was happy with her choices as well.

We were in Italy for 10 days and our dinner at La Palomba was the best we had. We had heard about the wonderful truffles so we decided to have a truffle theme for dinner. We started with the truffle crostini, followed by truffle pasta and finally truffle filet. The crostini was simple Tuscan bread (no salt) with olive oil... More

The first place on our list was too busy, so we continued until we found this tiny atmospheric place, also very busy, but we squeezed into a corner. Staff were genial and always there when you wanted them. The food was simply outstanding. Between us we had starter plates of meats, cheeses and roasted vegetables, followed by what I was told... Trattoria Tipica La Palomba We had eaten at this restaurant on our first visit to Orvieto years ago, before the area was quite as ‘discovered’ as it is now. The restaurant is highly recommended by many local people as a typical Umbrian restaurant. Reservations are now recommended for dinner always and in season for lunch. Possibly because Orvieto is now... More
