This is our 4th trip to Orvieto - lucky us - and we never miss an opportunity to go here at least once. They are famous for their Carbonara dish which is outstanding - al dente pasta, pancetta, olive oil, etc. They have many other excellent pasta dishes and one of the best things about this place is you can... It was good to know from other reviews that booking was a good idea - which it certainly was. Whilst there many people were turned away. It has real authentic local cuisine - all delicious. The decor is very typical. We hope to go again before we leave Orvieto!

A place of real charm. We were recommend this place by someone with extensive knowledge of restaurants in the town. He had one choice and one choice alone and this was Mezze Luna. We were lucky to get a lunch booking but we were so grateful. The menu is not extensive, they seem to cook food that they excel at... More

Mezza Luna is a great place for Happy Hour, especially since they offer Happy Hour on Saturday which a lot of places don't. Absolutely LOVE their Homemade Chips and Caramelized Onion Dip (5.00 on bar menu) and reasonable and good tasting house wine (HH price is $5/glass). Ask the bartender for a taste before settling on a glass, as they... More

Very good and affordable meal. Only problem is to be able to get a table without reservation. Always full it took me three tries to be able to find a place. Relatively small place but very pleasant with excellent service. I had Bruschetta, Tagliatelle Funghi Porcini both delicious and a glass of house red wine for only E12!!!!

Located right beside a beautiful overlook, Mezza Luna is a bit difficult to find, but worth the effort. The room is warm and friendly. The staff are friendly and helpful. It definitely had the air of a "local" establishment and group; the crowd seemed like mostly families from the town. Abundant and delicious Carbonara was the dish. You won't leave... More

Small restaurant, 10 tables or so just around the corner from our hotel Palazzo Piccolomini. Recommended by our tour guide and bus driver. Not touristy at all. It seemed all locals dining there. Owner and staff were howling and yelling at a soccer match on small TV in kitchen added to the genuine local feel. The Carbonara is outstanding. Prices... More

The place was recomended for eating carbonara and really they had the best carbonara we have ever had. Enormous portions, a bit on the fat side, and with lot of egg yolk. Allow yourself a one-time immersion in cholesterol for the sake of the good taste of this dish.

I had a fettucini with artichoke, and my husband had a carbonara. Both were to die for. We also split a bruschetta and wished we'd each had our own. This place is as legit as it gets.

Best food we had during our recent trip to Italy. Recommended by a local and it was oh so good! Small, family run restaurant. We ate here for 2 meals. The pasta was divine. We also had delicious steak. And lemon sorbet was to die for. I dream about the food here. Highly recommend. Excellent value and service.
