The food and service here were fantastic! They also had a great wine list! We shared an amazing 1998 red wine for only 60 Euros. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and return.

First night on Ortisei we ended up for dinner. Very nice dishes. Beautiful environment although a bit noisy. A great wine list also.
We asked for some tap water to accompany our meal and the other drinks we had ordered, we were told that this "wasn't available." The alternative is a 4,95 Euro bottle of 700ml water. On principle, I would avoid this place. Besides this exploitative pricing,...the service was good, and the meal wasn't memorable.More
Loved this place. Quiet/small, away from crowds. Friendly/warm service, nicely decorated, relaxed atmosphere. Excellent vegetarian fare, but also char fish and hamburger. Highly recommend!!
We had dinner at Ustaria da Checco and it was disappointing due to the unwelcoming owner. The food was OK but the service was unfriendly. I would give this restaurant a miss.
We spent 3 nights in Ortisei and we dined at Checco's in two occasions... food was great, the restaurant is clean and comfortable, and the service was spot on. I can definitely recommend this restaurant . Keep up the great work.
I haven’t posted on Tripadvisor for a while but felt compelled after the terrible service at Da Checco. We ate there a few years ago and it was good so I made 2 reservations this week. The first night, we sat to the right as...you enter the restaurant. Lots of big groups, very loud. Food was OK, nothing special. The second night, I requested to sit to the left as you enter. NO! I was told by a very unfriendly woman. I explained why I wanted to sit there and again, NO! No tables over there. I walked over and saw 3 open tables for 4 people. The unpleasant woman again insisted that I cannot sit there. She said that If the people on the other side are too loud, I must tell then to be quiet. What a farce! I need to police her guests to tell them to keep it down??? I walked out after that. I was glad to leave because it saved me from eating in this most unwelcoming restaurant with mediocre food. A blessing in disguise!!More
Celebrated my birthday here and the staff went out of their way to make us feel special. The steaks are incredible and the service is as good - highly recommended!
Visited with my wife and friends in February 2020. Had a really first class meal and the service was very good indeed. Nice modern layout and surroundings. The pasta was excellent and the main courses very flavoursome. Extensive wine list and very nice staff. Strongly...commended.More
I appreciated the aesthetics, decoration, quality of ingredients and the excellent customer service. Try the deer carpaccio. It’s local and delicious!
We booked ahead to eat here one mid-week early evening. The waitress was very welcoming, even though we were in walking boots. The menu was attractive; I had ravioli to start (disappointingly watery), and herb-encrusted veal for main (perfectly cooked - pink!), with panacotta with...stewed plum for dessert (very good). 100 euros for two, with one glass of wineMore
The perfect place to enjoy dinner while sitting among the mountains of Ortisei. Food was delicious and service was top notch. Ate here twice during our week stay in Ortisei.
On our first night in St. Ulrich/Ortisei we wandered through the city centre, looking for a nice place to eat. We ended up in Ustaria da Checco just outside the main street and squares. It was quiet when we arrived but fortunately other customers joined...us later. The staff were helpful, alert and very friendly. We had three courses, all excellent. The risotto with herbs and goat’s cheese was wonderful, as were the bandnudeln with hirschragout. The cheesecake for dessert was not as we expected but very nice nevertheless. I really can’t think of any criticism. Maybe the red wine, which came at too cool a temperature; I like it at room temperature.More
The food, service, and decor at this restaurant were outstanding! We loved getting off of the beaten path and stumbled upon this gem on a beautiful afternoon in October. Their signs in the alleyway caught our eye and we are so glad! They spoke a...bit of English and the menu had translations. Prices were reasonable and the flavors of the various dishes were sublime. We would eat here again and again, but unfortunately we were just passing through Ortisei. Gluten Free Friendly, too!More
We were very excited to visit one of highly recommended restaurant by a local guide, but it turn out to be a big disappointment to my family and friends. We have 6 people in the group, and we are foodies who love to order many...dishes for dinner. Some of us order 2 dishes and hence we need a bigger table to fit 6 of us comfortably. They have us instead 2 blocks of tables and put 2 chairs at both ends. The restaurant was not busy at all and we request the waiter if she can add one more table. We asked politely for few times for the additional tables because we will order a lot of dishes, and to our surprise the waiter replied us by saying "I hope you order a lot" in unfriendly tone and expression. Cutting the story short, we just walk out from #ustariadachecco and heading to a nearby local restaurant instead.More
