We ate lunch/brunch here upon arriving in Montepulciano since we arrived earlier than expected to check into our rental. It is a familiar place to me and I have eaten here many times in years past. Lovely view.

A great place for a coffee and cake in Montepulciano as you make your way up the hill. Very traditional surroundings, a little Parisienne in style, with a small terrace overlooking the incredible countryside. Wonderful selection of cakes and pastries and gorgeous coffee, which the Italians do to perfection. friendly staff and reasonable prices

The food is typical Tuscan food. After eating in the restaurant, ask to have the coffee served on the terrace overlooking the valley. The view is stunning.

We ate here 4 years ago when we last visited Montepulciano on a lunchtime. This time we wanted to book somewhere special to eat with my parents-in-law for dinner, so pre-booked table on the terrace. Upon arrival we had the prime table on the terrace, table directly next to the balcony with no tables in front of us. We'd not... More

This place trades on its similarity to an old style Viennese coffee shop. Except there's no atmosphere. Very good views if you sit at the back. We waited a long time for the waiter to take our order - coffee and cake. Another long wait and the cake arrived, no coffee. We eventually ate the cake first, out of boredom,... More

Don't take a sit, drink a coffee or aperitif at the bar, like an Italian. Its beautiful and the view from the back balcony is amazing. A classic place to visit and enjoy. Did not try the food in my visit.

We were looking for a place with a view which was gorgeous but the food was very average - the lasagne was dry with barely any tomato sauce and was so bad we couldn't eat it. The ravioli was ok but nothing fantastic. Our starter of "vegetable fritter with cheese fondue" was basically a fairly tasteless polenta muffin ( also... More

Check out the little terrace at the back, it has an amazing view, even over Lago di Trasimeno. And they have great pastries.

I came here for the 4th time but this time was the bad one. The lasagna did spend a couple of hours in the oven. The meet spent about the same time ... so we were much dissapointed since the place is really charming and beautifull Please chef , next time try to follow what is going on in the... More

Caffè Poliziano Historical Place of Italy. This spacious and elegant Caffè in the historical centre of Montepulciano is a fine example of Art Nouveau design. For generations visitors and local residents have been able to enjoi a glorious view of of the Valdichiana from the balcony. Distinguished guests have included Carducci, Pirandello, Prezzolini, Malaparte, Mario del Monaco, Giulietta Masina,Ornella Muti,, Mario monicelli, Marina Doria di Savoia, Enrico Rava, Mauro Bolognini, Giorgio Battistelli, Licia Colò.... In 1992 the Caffè was lovingly restored to its former glory. Federico Fellini, who visited the "Poliziano" soon after, considered the atmosphere and style to be worthy of a great Central European city such as Vienna or Prague.
