Not sure if the owner was having a bad day, but was very rude, hanging up in the middle of trying to make a reservation. Guess he doesn't need the business.

A must if you are in Montepulciano. Reservations are required, but one of the most memorable and unique meals we had. We actually went back for lunch the next day.

Really don't get the raving reviews this joint receives. Mediocre food at best, boorish staff, an unmannered big mess which is apparently mistaken for 'authentic italian'. To top this rowdy night off desserts were slapped on the table with great rush since the next pack...More

Reserve ahead! Tiny restaurant is packed at each seating with people craving succulent beef. Giulio whacks off the size hunk you request before he grills it 7 minutes each side. Delicious! Don't know how we had room for dessert, but we did. Delicious lemon semifreddo...More

Amazing. The steak was excellent! We had the same type of meal in Florence and this was much better meat! The owner is very strict about time so don’t be late or you will miss your reservation. There are 2 seatings so the timing is...More

Description
The Osteria ACQUACHETA, open for over 25 years, has retained the characteristics of the old Tuscan taverns. The kitchen, sharing tables, one glass for water and wine, and not least an authentic welcome and true, typically Tuscan, make it a local flavor ... you feel at home ... Managers, CHIARA and GIULIO, have maintained intact over the years the tradition of pasta, bread, cakes and homemade preserves to which are added succulent steaks cooked Florentine embers of wood. Local, small and very popular, is located in the upper part of the old town, a few steps from the main square.
