Many better restaurant options in Montepulciano. We ended up here because most other restaurants were booked/full. Service was poor (one waiter for many busy tables). Perhaps because she was overworked, the waiter was not happy and rushed. Owners should hire additional staff. Food was ok,...but low quality compared to other restaurants nearby.More

Disgusting food and personal are very rude. Not recommended this place. Only coffee was good. But atmosphere was uncomfortable.

Had we read the reviews we probably wouldn’t have visited this bistro and we would have missed out. The waitress was pleasant, the food was tasty and portions generous. Would not hesitate in choosing to eat here again. I don’t normally review but when I...read other people’s comments criticising the staffs “poor English” as one of the reasons for a low score I feel the need to speak out. Do these reviewers bother to learn any Italian before their holiday? I doubt it. Very ignorant then to be critical. May I suggest the UK, Canada or perhaps USA for those persons next trip.More

we had amazing experience. the food, the service, the setting exceeded expectations as we just stumbled upon it walking by searching for place to eat. owner herself, Lena, made us feel welcomed like we were long time friends. recently renovated, great selection of dishes, portion...sizes allowed to enjoy meal and still have room for more dishes which we did and didn’t break the bank. having been to italy many times we’ve learned the best restaurants aren’t the fanciest looking or most expensive ones. there’s even a downstairs eating area that i told her they should have shown us that from the start. arc brick lined rustic cave, clean and classy. thoroughly enjoyed our time and highly recommend you try this gem and savor as many dishes as you can. xoxo Marlene &MattMore

We went here as we hadn't booked and most restaurants were fully booked. Or you had to eat outside (and it was a little cool) . The menu didn't really inspire but we decided to go anyway. The waiters English wasn't very good and the...menus were oy in Italian but we coped. A pleasant, if run of the mill meal. Service was a little unfriendly. What did annoy us was the 1.90 per person 'cover' charge. This is usually if you have bread. We noticed other guests had bread, oil and vinegar but we weren't given any. We questioned this but the waiter insisted we had had bread. The 'boss' lady just ranted at us in Italian even though we explained we couldn't understand. The 3rd member of staff who did speak English didn't want to help/get involved. For the sake of 3.80 I would have expected them to knock it off the bill. It left a bad taste to be labelled as liars. Not great customer service there.More

The food here is like something your nonna would make. It’s authentic, delicious and filling. Unfortunately a lot of American tourists were there during our dinner expecting an ‘American lasagna’ and ‘moscato’ and I’m sure the negative reviews are a reflection of that ignorance. Its...delicious and as it should be.More

The food was excellent. We saw someone eating a salad of fennel and orange drizzled with balsamic vinegar. We had to have it so we grabbed a table. It was delicious as was the pear and pecorino salad with honey. For primo, we ordered the...lasagna and the local pasta (Pici) with Tuscan ragu. The lasagna was amazing. Best lasagna we’ve had in a long time. The thick pasta noodles in ragu were good too. We were too full to order secondi so we had Tiramisu for dessert. It was wonderful and the service was great.More

This restaurant has earned its rating as one of the worst in Montepulciano. The service is terrible, the food is bad. We arrived to an empty restaurant, save one other couple. We were asked to present our CDC white cards, upon which the hostess then...asked, “where are you from?” She had a hostile, skeptical tone. I responded, “the United States”. We were shown to our seats. We ordered chinghiale (roast boar) in a pan, chick pea soup with porcini, and roast chicken. The chinghiale had an odd, gamey aftertaste. I order chinghiale in stew whenever available, and can easily say this dish was terrible. The soup was lukewarm and also had an odd after taste. The roast chicken was served with its pale, yellow skin looking unroasted. The chicken was mediocre, but of the three dishes, the only that was edible. The waiter had not returned after serving us (other than to give me a fork, as the table was not set with one for me). I searched him out to tell him that we were finished. He came over, saw all the food, and was confused. I told him none of the dishes were good, and sent them back. The hostess came over. “What’s wrong?” I told her the chinghiale and the soup both did not taste good and had an odd aftertaste. She asked if we wanted something else. Since we’d received three dishes that were not good at all, we declined. I was then presented with the full bill. I asked why we were being asked to pay for the chinghiale and the soup, and the response was, “you ate some.” I said “we had to eat some to taste it, we clearly did not like it.” She refused any refund, even though I said I would gladly pay for the chicken. I paid the full bill, told the hostess we certainly would not return, and that I would tell everyone I know: DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT. It’s terrible. Why TA has it #82 out of #88 is a mystery; it is the worst restaurant in town by far. Not even a competition.More

Perfectly acceptable spot for lunch. Sat out in the tables on the street and had a decent set of pizzas with the family. Service could have been a bit quicker but decent food at reasonable prices.

These guys really don't care....we walked in off the street for a drink and pizza, we ordered Aperol Spritz but were told they had run out of ice (really) and then served two locals 5 min later with Spritz & Ice. We ordered a Margherita...Pizza and a Fuego Pizza (Has Salami, Olives and Peppers) The Margherita arrived with no basil...we asked where was the basil and were told they had a busy day and had run out..ya cant serve a Margherita without basil its not a Margherita its a cheese and tomato pizza!!!! The Fuego turned up without peppers and when questioned was told the "chilli flakes" on top were peppers...and what we got was very greasy mushy pizza...worst pizzas in 13 trips to Italy. They waiters didn't care...the cook and owner spent most of the time outside smoking.....the worst eating experience EVER in Italy...these guys really let Montepulciano downMore

We came here pretty much at random as they had a spare table and we were starving. We ended up loving it. The portions here are HUGE and my husband had one of the best steaks of the holiday. I had a pizza which, whilst...not the absolute best of the trip, was very enjoyable and good value for money. I would recommend if you are looking for a casual bite to eat!More
